Who in the Hell
gets E$PN Plus? Is this another subscription ripoff? Where is UD protecting the fan's interests in their TV deals?

Yes... it's worth it... It's an A10 Thing not UD
I have a feeling the non-TV home games are going to be on there as well

Now that I am on Uverse as opposed to Spectrum, I have no problem paying $5/month to get these games on ESPN+, assuming those games would have been on the Spectrum Sports Channel instead. I won't have to go looking for some bootleg link and all that goes with that.

You should be able to stream ESPN Plus, which is a real...well...plus. Rather than watching the games on your computer, buy a Fire Stick. You have access to the ESPN app if you have ESPN through your cable provider. We have Cincinnati Bell Fioptics in our home. I also have a Fire Stick. During basketball season, I watch ESPN on my Fire Stick rather than standard cable. I can watch any game carried by ESPN. If you need to go out of town, take your Fire Stick with you. It makes watching the Flyers from another town far easier or possible.

So UD
with the slogan "For the Common Good" has no influence within the A-10?

For me ESPN plus is a better deal. It gives access to any stream from any A10 school for 4.99 per month. An A10 subscription was, I think, 9.95 per month. UD streamed for free, but many of the A10 schools charged. It also covers any sport that is streamed and I follow several sports. In the past, I would end up paying more than 4.99 pe month paying on a per game basis when I wanted to catch an away game that was not on tv. The per game charge was 6.95.
Another advantage is that ESPN archives the games and you can watch later. The A10 quit archiving games a couple of years ago.

Sometimes I think that we Flyer fans have an incorrect "sense of ourselves". My guess is that that if UD or the A10 tried to play hard ball with ESPN regarding TV platforms, (like demanding that games be carried on ESPN or ESPN2), so that people don't have to figure out how to use a computer, we would be laughed at and they would move on to the next conference. ESPN cares about the power 5 because that is where the national revenue is. Like it or not, we get the scraps. It is more important (I think) for recruits to know that the vast majority games will be on TV somewhere than it is to make sure that every fan in every region can effortlessly access the games. I just don't get the sense that UD or the A10 has a ton of weight to throw around on issues like this.

Here is the link to ... ESPN+: Everything you need to know
https://www.digitaltrends.com/movies/what-is-espn-plus/
"ESPN’s streaming service, ESPN+, is finally here, ushering in what is sure to be a new era of content delivery for Disney-owned properties. The new service differs from other streaming apps in a few key ways. Here is everything cord-cutting sports fans needs to know about ESPN+.
◾Despite appearances, ESPN+ is not a stand-alone streaming service and isn’t a replacement for your ESPN cable channel. Instead, ESPN+ gives users a new, more convenient way to access ESPN content and live programming through the newly designed ESPN app.
◾You can check out the service with a free seven-day trial.
◾ESPN+ has two different subscription models — either $5 per month or $50 per year. While more expensive upfront, the yearly subscription model would save you $10 per year.
◾The service includes live MLB, NHL, NBA, and MLS games, as well as college sports, PGA golf, Top Rank Boxing, and Grand Slam Tennis matches. You’ll also find United Soccer League, cricket, rugby, Canadian Football League, English Football League, and UEFA Nations League games.
◾Video can be streamed in up to 60 fps.
◾As with pretty much every other streaming service out there, you can cancel your subscription at any time, no strings attached.
◾Despite the subscription model, you’ll still encounter ads, but only a limited number of them, while watching live programming.
◾Users will be able to access scores, news, sports radio, podcasts, an on-demand library, and certain games and programming not available on ESPN’s cable channels.
◾Watching live ESPN channels will still require a paid TV subscription (whether cable, satellite, or streaming service). The app acts as a gatekeeper by requiring users to sign in with their TV provider account to enable live viewing. If you need help finding a streaming TV provider, head over to our TV streaming services guide.
◾While it wasn’t available on the app at launch, ESPN now offers a condensed, digital version of its popular SportsCenter series each day that can be watched through ESPN+.
◾In August 2018, ESPN+ reached a multiyear deal with with the FA Cup — the oldest domestic cup tournament in the world — to stream English football matches in the U.S.
◾If you happen to miss the first part of a game, you can watch live content from the beginning, even if you start watching late.
◾If you happen to subscribe to another premium sports streaming service, like MLB.tv or NHL.tv, you’ll be able to access out-of-market games through the ESPN app.
◾The ESPN app is available on the following devices: Android smartphones, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube, Fire TV Smart TVs, Fire Tablets, iPhone, and iPad.
That’s the quick and easy rundown of ESPN+ and its features. The service is sure to evolve as time goes on, and we’ll keep you updated with all the important moves and changes. You can find out more about ESPN+ on the ESPN Media Zone website. Users of iOS devices can download the ESPN app via iTunes, while Android users will find it on the Play Store."

Anybody know if the games that are on both spectrum and ESPN plus will be blacked out in Ohio unless you can get the spectrum channel ?

There are no games listed for Spectrum yet. I could be wrong but my assumption is that ESPN+ will take the place of the Spectrum Sports Channel games.

The main reason I haven't explored cutting the cord yet is that so many UD games have been on Spectrum Sports the last few years. If that goes away, there isn't much keeping me with Time Warner/Spectrum anymore.

I'm with you. I held off a long time. I finally made the switch last year because it wasn't as big of a deal to miss a few games given last year's team. i am considering going back to Spectrum if I can get a better deal. I am watching this ESPN+ thing because it may impact my decision.
