A10 Championship on Sunday in 2010!
http://atlantic10.cstv.com/sports/m-...112508aac.html
It says it will be broadcast on CBS Sports, but I'm not sure if they mean CBS College Sports, or not. Now, after writing that statement, it might actually be the main CBS channel! 1pm Selection Sunday, 2010, A10 Championship!
(Oh, and the opening round games will be at the higher seed's campus site starting that year as well.)

That's wonderful news! And 2010 could be our magical year.
PG-Juwan Staten
SG-Paul Williams or Chris Johnson
SF- Chris Wright (If he stays for his Senior year)
PF-Josh Benson or Matt Kavanaugh
C- Adreian Payne (Hopefully)

Sound like the new comissioner is off to a good start.
Amazing what she can do versus Linda Bungle.

Actually it's next season...09-10 basketball season (Which we will have 4 SR / 1 JR starter)
So Staten and Payne are still in HS.
Either way it's a great deal.

I read this to indicate that the final game will be broadcast by CBS Sports, not the College Sports network, formerly known as CSTV. Interesting that they are having the opening round games at the higher seed. Does this mean the end of Atlantic City as the site for the Championship? Looks like a weekend affair.

My guess:
Opening Round: Tuesday or Wednesday (Campus Sites)
Quarters: Friday (Atlantic City/Philly)
Semis: Saturday (Atlantic City/Philly)
Finals: Sunday (Atlantic City/Philly)
The first year it was at UD they had Campus Sites on Monday and the Quarters on Thursday.

TK says UD has made a very, very substantial monetary offer to host the Tourney, but doesn't think we will get it because everyone wants a neutral court. The CBS guy, however, said they would like a large, raucous crowd. They won't get that in Atlantic City or Philly. CBS isn't going to want a half empty arena. We are taking the spot at 1:00 on CBS being vacated by the SEC which is moving to ABC.

I thought I also read that the CBS exec said wherever the game is played is alright with CBS. I like it in AC because it is only a 3 hour drive for me, but really, there has to be a better place. Let's see what surprise our new commish comes up wiwth.

Kissell said UD is "swimming up stream" in their attempts to host the A-10 tourney because of the a huge advantage it would give UD. Still, I would not count us out. It sounds like UD is offering a sweetheart deal and money always talks. Also, the last thing the A-10 wants to do is embarrass themselves the first year out the gate with CBS. This is a major coup for the A-10 to be able to showcase the finals of their tourney on national TV. Having the finals in Dayton will add excitement and and give the conference credibility.
One question remains, if NOT Dayton then where do you go to showcase this tourney for CBS? Philly? -been there, done that. Atlantic City? - that gamble's not paying off. UD Arena? We'd put on one heck of show for those network executives.

They could host the tournament at a neutral site in cincy but you still run into the fact that it isn't centralized to the conference. I would be curious if at either the cincy location or UD what the attendance would be for the finals/semi's if neither UD nor XU happen to make it.
