http://daytonflyers.com/news/2018/7/...ing-coach.aspx

"We're excited to announce the addition of Ed Streit as our Strength & Conditioning Coach," Grant said. "Ed brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from his time in the NBA and on multiple college campuses. He possesses the character, passion, and work ethic that make him a great fit as we pursue our vision for Dayton Basketball. Our players and staff are excited to have him on board."

Streit, 29, comes to UD from the University of Connecticut, where he spent one season as the strength and conditioning coach for UConn men's basketball.

Prior to that, the Windy City native spent three-and-a-half years as the strength and conditioning associate coach with the NBA's Chicago Bulls. Previous to his time in the NBA, Streit worked two seasons with the men's and women's basketball teams at Arizona State University as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach. That followed a stretch as a sports performance intern while at DePaul, where he also worked with both men's and women's basketball.

"I'm excited to join the University of Dayton basketball program and be a part of what we are building here," Streit said. "A number of people I know in our business have nothing but great things to say about UD and Coach Grant. He is very well-respected by people in the game. I'm thrilled to be here."

I am certain he is a wonderful choice, but he certainly likes to change jobs about as much as most people change underwear!

Mr. Streit (I mean Tom Cruise), your mission, since you have already chosen to accept it, if you or anyone on your staff does not fulfill players full potential then the Fandom of this blog will disavow any knowledge of you. Your mission, Mr. Streit, is to get Crutcher, Policelli and Toppin to gain twenty pounds of muscle by the start of January 2019. That is, when the A10 regular season starts."

Interns and grad assistants shouldn't stay in those roles long, so really the only jobs he hopped from were with the Bulls and UConn. And the latter lost their coach.

Hurley did retain him. I'm not criticizing him for leaving UConn after one year to come to Dayton. I know who I'd rather work for/with.

(Side note: I still say the left side of the D in our logo looks like a silhouette of Conan O’Brien’s head)

TBone84: i concur. i never noticed that before. I don’t know about the left side of the “D” looking like any specific person but it does look like a human face with a long nose.

I told my wife the first time I saw it that UD should have asked Conan for permission to use his likeness.
