Indiana legalized sports gambling

Saw an ad on tv recently for the sportsbook for the Lawrenceburg, Indiana casino I think.

Indiana just legalized sports gambling on Sep 1.

States with legal sports betting

Thirteen states have legal, regulated sports betting industries.

Nevada sports betting
Delaware sports betting
New Jersey sports betting
Mississippi sports betting
West Virginia sports betting
Pennsylvania sports betting
Rhode Island sports betting
Arkansas sports betting
New York sports betting
Iowa sports betting
Indiana sports betting
In New Mexico, some tribes are now offering NM sports betting under an existing Class III gaming compact.

Some Oregon tribes have also begun operating sportsbooks, and the state lottery is working to launch a sports betting product under its existing authority.



2019 sports betting bills

There are now a variety of bills on file around the country and even some new laws on the books. Below is a look at current legislation by state. Six states in particular are close to having legal sports betting:

Illinois (Legalized June 2019)
Maine (Bill passed; awaiting action in 2020)
Montana (Legalized May 2019)
New Hampshire (Legalized June 2019)
North Carolina (Legalized July 2019)
Tennessee (Legalized May 2019)
