This will be fun ride
Just watched the first half. I am kind of speechless. I have no idea if we can keep this pace/tempo up for the remainder of the season, but this group has ZERO quit in them and are awesome to watch. The effort by everyone seems off the charts and Arch has them playing great...even with shots not falling for 10 minute stretches. No matter what happens it sure seems that this is a great UD team we can be proud of. Just love watching this team the way they are playing. go Flyers!!

I go back to the days of the fieldhouse, and I don't remember things like this happening before. We've lost half the team we started with!
That makes it hard to even practice properly. SMH
Oh well. DD used to only play 7 Guy's many years.

This team is like the 1984 Flyers all over again. The Mighty Mites then, as Coach Donoher would say, and Ryan's Runts (or Archie's Aunts) of today. Whatever they are or whatever you call them...I am impressed. It sure is a joy and treat to watch, not only their amazing play, but their effort. As a fan and ticketholder, I appreciate that effort.
The Flyers have a new "Enforcer" in Bobby Wehrli. Wow, those blocks and saves back to the in-bounds...awesome. And especially the one where he challenged the big man on the attempted dunk. Between the blocks, rebounds, and overall defensive effort on his part, only thing left to do is getting a easy baseline basket or two each game, a couple of free-throws, and about one or two good three point attempts per game, and the Flyers will be virtually un-guardable.

I was thinking the same thing watching today.
The '84 team basically only played 7 players and were small but tough just like this year's team. Can't really compare them individually at all, but as a team unit the similarities are striking.
What a joy it was to watch the extra pass being made to get the best shot. Pierre and Pollard worked so well together with some outstanding interior passing. Probably the most fun I've had watching the Flyers play during the holidays that I can remember.

Beatty TC--I got a kick out of a Duquesne poster saying, "They put that Wehrli kid in and he's blocking shots like Bill Walton!" They were all in shock at the lopsided score from such an undermanned, smaller team.
I can't tell you how proud I am of the whole team, but especially Bobby for jumping into the fray with such fearlessness and abandon.
Now the question is-- can we keep up the intensity on the road? I think so.

I don't know how far this ride is going to go, but I know it will be a heck of a journey. There has to be a bump or two in the road ahead. However, if they continue to believe in each other good things will happen.
I see a team playing the best fundamental basketball that I have seen from a Flyer team in a long long time. Gosh, basketball can be a beautiful game when played correctly,

How are they avoiding fouls? Are the refs empathetic to the team challenges and becoming a 6th man?

Great point. Sometimes I sit there looking at the stats, thinking how is this possible when no one has two fouls yet, and it is the start of the second half. And on top of that, we are playing our arses off on defense and we get tired.
The coaches have delivered their message, most fouls are due to lazy defense, reaching, poor offensive decisions and not blocking out for rebounds. None of which are necessary to win.
