Request: Wear Flyer Clothing In Honor Of Steve McElvene
Request of Flyer Fans: Please consider wearing your University of Dayton Flyer clothing on Saturday, May 14, in honor of Steve McElvene. That would be those hats, T-shirts, Polos, vests or whatever. If you are in a cold climate, wear that hoody, scarf, windbreaker or jacket. This would kinda' be a way of showing team spirit and support for Steve. I know that I will wear my hat and my polo shirt. Wear it to the dry cleaners, the grocery store, the department store, the restaurant or the drinking hole of your choice. I would not ask you to wear it on Friday as it was too soon and we were all still in a state of shock. Saturday is better. I would not ask you to wear any sports attire on Sunday as your mother may not approve of wearing sports attire to church. If you go to church, maybe you could say a little prayer for Steve and his family.

Wore my 2009 NCAA tournament t-shirt today. Will wear something else tomorrow.
On a side note, any thought of doing an updated "Much Love" t-shirt like the students did after Chris Daniels' death?

I still have my "Much Love CD" shirt. I have a few ideas for a "Big Steve" shirt but I'm still working on them. Hopefully anybody who creates a shirt donates the profit to his family or to whatever charity or cause would be appropriate.
Hopefully jpk4ud / FlyerAttire is open to some ideas.

That's my problem too Rollo. But I will switch back to my UD cap from my Reds cap. Driving back from Nashville right now wearing a UD polo.
May the souls of the faithful departed, through the Mercy of God, rest in peace. RIP big Steve.

On my way to my daughters AAU tourney, wearing my Flyers hoodie and shirt, instead of her team shirt I normally wear. We are at Spiece Fieldhouse in Fort Wayne, the home of Big Steves AAU team he played on. RIP Big guy.

I was thinking something simple in big block letters would make a cool shirt. Red shirt, white lettering like this:
RIP
BIG
STEVE

Is there anywhere I can buy a number 5 Flyer jersey? I haven't been able to find anything online.

Yes we are open to ideas. We are looking into doing something along these lines. We are looking into donating to the family or a charity like the heart association.

One of the best tribute suggestions I have seen (someone on twitter) is that every time there is a shot blocked next year at home, the crowd should chant "Steve says no." To take it a step further, it should be done for the next three years.
