TWC Televised Games
I see that Time Warner Cable will be televising 11 games this year. Does anyone know whether they allow their games to be streamed online? Also, the Dayton Flyers website still shows the St. Mary's game "TBA" as far as a TV broadcast. Hard to believe they got that game scheduled without a firm TV commitment. Anyone know anything about that?

According to Daytonflyers.com the game will be streamed...it's not hard to look this stuff up people. If next to the game it says "watch" it's going to be streamed.

Is that a free stream for people who don't have Time Warner Cable for television?

Click the link on the page. If it takes you to the A10 webpage, like it does for Friday, it will more than likely be free.

Thank you sir. I saw the "watch" indication but wasn't sure it meant it would be streamed or whether you could watch on TWC. Now, what does your crystal ball say about the St. Mary's game?

But the online stream may be blacked out in Ohio (where the TWC sportschannel is available).

According to the web site linked below, which is known to be accurate, the game will be on Fox Sports Ohio and Fox College Sports.

That may be true, I was replying to TX Flyer who was asking about out of state fans. Was it all of Ohio that got blacked out? Or was it just the Dayton Area? I seem to remember Flyer fans in Columbus and Cleveland still being able to watch, but I could be wrong there.

In my experience the TWC games from last year could not be streamed if you lived in Ohio. The advice I offered to people who lived in Ohio last year was to try using a VPN to get around the geo-block TWC is using. The VPN will hide where you are actually at so you can stream the game.

TunnelBear is a nice solution. Also, if you use your phone data, and not wifi, you can stream the game on your phone in Ohio. At least that was the case last year. I have a grandfathered contract where I have unlimited data with no throttling so it isnt an issue with me but I realize data streaming for an entire game multiple times is a season might make this not a practical solution for some. I can stream my phone onto my television and it works like a charm.

How have we gotten to the point of TWC having such a big piece of the pie? It was only two years ago that I could get all but two games on Directv. I am a little concerned that I will be watching games on my computer instead of my 65" HD screen.

I agree with you. TWC Sportschannel - Ohio has extremely limited distribution -- only in Ohio and only on Time Warner and Charter Cable systems. The good news is that all games have been home games where the only thing I miss is watching the replay of the game the next day.
Its extremely likely to remain only home games in the future. As soon as TWC uses a satellite for any of its programming, it would be forced by the FCC to offer the channel to DirecTV/DIsh and other providers.

Not sure where you get 11 games on TWC Sports Channel. The schedule I have lists 5. And St Mary's shows as Fox Sports Ohio.

TWC isn't the problem when it comes to out of town webstreaming--Fox Sports Ohio is. If you look at the schedule:
http://www.daytonflyers.com/schedule.aspx?path=mbball
Most TWC games are streamed; the FSO ones are not

You're correct that the TWC games are streamed, but for people who live in Ohio it is a problem because they can't easily watch the stream because of the TWC geoblock.

While I hope to get to a lot of games this year since I just moved back to Dayton from North Carolina...streaming the game is not the most fun, exhilarating experience in the world. I remember streaming the George Mason game on my laptop last year in my NC apartment. Even though we won by a ton, the viewing experience was pretty undesirable.

The Fox Sports Ohio games are likely streamed through the FSO app, which is pretty great.

Will the Merger of AT&T and TWC Affect Access
Does anyone know if those of us who have AT&T can look forward to future Flyer TWC broadcasts being accessible on AT&T?

Time Warner Inc sold off Time Warner Cable to Charter and is now called Spectrum.
So a merger of Time Warner Inc and AT&T if it happens has zero impact.

Is the free 500MB a Month from TunnelBear enough?
Do you or anyone know if Hola is a good option?

I found you could start the broadcast with tunnelbear on and then once the broadcast began you can turn tunnelbear off. It just is needed to establish the connection by hiding the location but does not need to remain active. Of course that was last year and things could have changed.

Can confirm. Tunnel Bear is the easiest thing to use! I connected through Germany, got the stream going, then disconnected and the stream still is going great.

Hmmm, my ISP is Road Runner/TWC/Comcast/Spectrum or whatever it's called now. I wonder if that has something to do with it. What's your ISP? I'm on TWC block IP range of 174.97.X.X.

I don't have TWC. I was trying to stream it from the UD website. I found another way. Downloaded the A-10 app on my phone and I could watch it.
