Golden Balls of Steel - Duquesne
A nice road win in the city of steel is always nice. What isn't nice is some of the play we're forced to witness. But let's ignore that and focus on handing the Golden BoS Award to the most deserving Flyer!
We are!
UD!
King Rollo...and his abs of steel...OUT!

My vote for X as well. He really helped us build the lead in the first half, which indeed was vital given our uneven second half.

Yep. X was the factor in getting the lead, which we never lost. Cooke did a much better job of letting the game come to him, instead of trying to force things. And when Kyle went out, Scoochie took-over to help build the lead to an insurmountable level. But X set the tone. Gets my POG vote!

He's Xeyrius, and I'm nothing but seriously full of Beatty Town Pride. Sentimental all weekend long! What a great game for XWILLIAMS...massively bigger than Rollo's Arms.
The Pride of Beatty was doubly represented in steel city today

X man was a beast. He's a match up problem for teams. Beyond the other obvious contributors, thought Sam actually gave one of his better efforts in a while.

Sam did contribute; played well, but just didn't go up strong enough to finish on several low post possessions in which he had the defender on his hip right where he needed him, but went up to soft...left shots short.

X with a career best game for him.
Special mention for Miller, Cooke, and Pollard (yes, that's right), for making their dam* free throws (13/16) !!

X is the man (excellent game) but, other than 1 forced shot, Mr. Cooke played team ball! UD fans dominated and once made fun of a DU chant carried out by their 25 students in attendance.

I saw XW play for Wayne two years ago at Flyin.
Not impressed....small sample.
Saw XW play for Flyers last year. Not impressed.
Saw XW play first couple of games this season, not impressed.
What he has done the last 10+ games is short of amazing.
My hat is off to him
NOTE: FWIW, Dayton and Wright State will not be playing this Monday on
MLK Day

I agree; he looks like a different player the last ten games or so. He is learning how to use his athleticism to get open shots. Also, he is even putting the ball on the floor on occasion. This is a prime example of taking a raw athlete and improving his basketball skills.

Saw XW play for the first time today, I think we have a future star. He looked natural not pressing in his game movement and flow, showing tremendous natural ability and much upside. Frankly looked dominant. For me- in one game he's nudged aside Ryan as the most pleasant surprise this season.

X is really earning his minutes. Playing decent D, swatting some balls, and has developed is outside shot. Seems to always be around the offensive end to tip a ball in. Reminds me of CJ.

You got give Ryan Mikesell his due for those "With Authority" late game rebounds. He wanted it more than the other team, and more than many of his own teammates. Rebounding is largely about effort; and Ryan gave the effort.

Why does this sentence look so familiar?
I feel like i heard this 10,000 times 18-22 years ago.
I just can't place it.

X and Chips Mikesell are splitting the 40 minutes, so far. With the way they are both playing might start seeing them both on the court together a bit more.
I love their combined stat line yesterday. 23 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 steels
If all 5 positions could have that combined stat line, think what we would be haha

If it were up to me Perryman would have a street named after him on Campus or the Ghetto. And a giant bronze statue of him in front of the Arena.
I have never loved a Flyer more, before or after him, nor will I.
Long live The King of Caroms!

In a scientific poll of Flyers' fans, King Rollo's Court finished just behind Staten Street and Meacham Parkway.

Don't worry Rollo, you would definitely finish in front of CHRIS MACK WAY. You have Wes Coffey's nose to thank.
