2016 UD Women's Soccer Preview
Article: http://www.udpride.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29609
Lots and lots of question marks. On paper, there is a lot to be concerned about. But things never seem to end how you expect them to.
I just hope don't take a nap for the first two weeks of the season again.

Can't remember entering a season with more question marks and less expectation. That being said, they do have Coach Tucker - and that is a good place to start. They need an us against the world mentality and effort for 90 minutes each and every match.

Flyers Picked to Win Conference
Have to say I am a bit surprised. Mega respect for Coach Tucker and what he has built.

UD will have a fairly good season if the defense holds up better than last year. With giving up 1.60 G per contest, we will struggle to break .500 with this schedule. Obviously defense has to be the focus for improvement. I'm just reiterating what was already laid out so well by Chris.
Last time UD won the A10 championship on the road was in 2010 (also at URI). I am not saying it is out of possibility to win the A10 championship given these circumstances. The goal is certainly within reach. In three of those years since 2010, I needn't remind anyone, Dayton did not lose a match at the champs but tied then managed to not advance on PK's. That's the most amazing thing. Dayton has - get this - NOT LOST a conference playoff match (irrespective of the aforementioned ties) since 2008, to UNC Charlotte!

Yes and no. Probably everyone is voting for Dayton 1st and 2nd because of what you said, he's got established cred. Whereas, if you have a different dark horse favorite, you may have a good inclination but you likely won't share that same opinion with more than one other coach because there is so much unproven about these other teams (particularly recent upstarts GW & Duquesne) and what they could bring.
Most competitive team to beat this year, if not Dayton, is yet unknown but will be clarified and qualified after the first seven or so games of nonconf, perhaps.

Defense def. has to improve this year. I obviously prefer O'Malley and Leedom in the MF b/c of their size and tried to make my case for it, but we shall see how it plays out again. Weigel might be the key.
Predictions dont win games. The scoreboard will tell us all we need to know. You are what your record says you are. 1-0 is all we need to be concerned about right now.
If nothing else, I just want to see an inspired opening night effort. Last year in FL it was lethargic.

Hard to get excited about following sports men/women if they can't provide coverage any better than this.
Flyers score in 73 minute to tie the game. Says Cincy reeling a bit. Perhaps we can eke out a win. Stay tuned.
Tied at end of regulation. OT Baby...
Tough loss Cincy scores with 11 seconds left in 2nd OT. 2-1 Cincy
Chris should have a good review of the game tomorrow.
