NCAA Tourney
Anyone know when the seeding and draw takes place, and is it on TV?

So I have not followed the women as closely as in the past. What seed do we expect the Flyers to end up at?

As many have pointed out, rather get a #10 and get a second round versus a two seed, than a #9 and a second round against a one seed.

Real-time rpi projections have them as a 9 seed versus Arizona state. The winner gets Connecticut.
Let's hope this isn't happening.

It is unlikely u conn will have a bad game so to beat them I think a team has to have an insane shooting night from three. Maybe one of the top seeds could beat then by playing their best and u conn being a little off. The other teams need an out of body shooting night

How about a Saturday game in either South Bend (9 seed) or Louisville (11 seed)? Either way is less than 3 hours from Indianapolis.

Were the Duq game not an auto-qualifier winner-take-all match, we would have been left at home. We were not seeded ahead of any at-large NCAA team. The A10 was weak, but every single team with an RPI above Dayton's also made the field. We would have been the highest RPI team left at home.
That said, had we lost to Duq, our RPI wouldnt be #32 either. More like #40. Still, the committee's opinion of UD and the A10 this year was pronounced. Only thing you can do is attempt to prove them wrong or prove them right.

Watched plenty of UT this year - love Diamond De Shields (daughter of former big leaguer Delino De Shields). Tough matchup for Grant-Allen going up against 6'6 Russell and they have a very efficient point guard in Reynolds (131 assists to 50 turnovers). We know how well UT travels since they came to UD Arena some years back so they'll have the crowd at Louisville.

Interesting for Flyer fans. Men play Friday and could advance to play Sunday in Indianapolis. Women play Saturday and could advance to play on Monday in Louisville. Driving distance from Indy to Louisville 114 miles.
How does Louisville and Ky keep getting to play in their own area?

I see this as a slap in the face. Every bracket leading up to this had as as a 9 or 10. We won the regular season and tournament. We should have been at the very least a 10 IMHO.
This should be something we use as a chip on our shoulders to go out and prove the NCAA wrong.
I do agree had we lost in the A-10 Tournament we wouldn't be here, but rather hosting a WNIT game. I hope the Vols look past us and look to playing Louisville...

Considering how we've beaten Louisville by 16 points twice in a row now they will be pulling for Tenn.

I'll put on my tournament heretic hat here and offer a couple of thoughts:
1. No at-large bid team should host a sub-regional, regardless of seeding.
2. Tournament (all tournaments, not just WBB) should be seeded 1-30something with the auto qualifiers by whatever method the NCAA chooses (RPI, secret committee, roll the bones, whatever), then the at-large teams get fed in the same way up to 64.
3. Absent #2, no at-large team should be seeded higher than the AQ team from its conference. This would give some real consequence and meaning for the conference tournament for all conferences, not just the 1-bid ones.
Those are my ideas, fire away.

there is good hs basketball played in Louisville maybe there will be some potential recruits in the crowd. Some of us held out hope after ten games that things would turn around. Scheduling played a part because Shauna said that nine day break allowed them to determine what their game plans needed to be
Really happy that Kelley in particular gets to play in the tournament. I hope that Andi can continue to shoot well, a big nailing threes can make a big difference
Regarding Louisville here is a question I heard my uncle ask a long time ago. I even had a woman who grew up in KY screw it up.
How do you pronounce the capital of Kentucky. Is it
LOU E VILL
LOUIS VILL
or LOU I VULL?
IT is pronounced FRANKFORT
And by the way my relatives in KY pronounce it LOO I VULL

I heard an interesting take on the women's tournament from a former UConn player. She believes that the team which is most likely to upset UConn is Maryland, they apparently have a great center and a great point guard even though she is a freshman. They could face off in the elite eight game
women's basketball needs someone to upset UConn and the best upset would be UD but UConn winning the championship does not help the sport.

I hope it is the entire game and not their whip around coverage of several games, and mostly of some big name team.
ESPN gives nice token equality by having a bunch of good looking females as broadcasters, but when it comes to women and the tourney, they show their true colors.

Probably will be a whip-around on ESPN2, but entire game will probably be on ESPN3. That's how I ended up watching another game of interest.
