UD chosen to finish 3rd in the A10 by the media
Chris Wright, preseason 2nd team not bad, even though i think if he plays well, will finish the year on the first team.
Paul Williams on the rookie team.
I am a little disappointed to see no flyers on the defensive team, especially Marcus.

I think thats all going to shake up. I think Wright will be on the 1st team All Conference at the end of the season. Marcus Johnson, Or London Warren will be on the All Defensive team. And I think Chris Johnson will be on the All Rookie Team, along with Paul Williams.

how the h@ll does Lyons make the all rookie team when he isn't even going to play? I think MJ ought to put this up in his locker and show the coaches and media how big of a mistake they made. I look for him to be at least 3rd team and all defensive.

With continued success comes recognition and awards. XU deserves and gets credit because they win 20 and make the NCAA every year, therefore they are rewarded with awards. When we start winning we will get the awards too.
See BRob last year. When we were winning big national exposure. When we were losing last year no BRob talk.

All this preseason stuff does is gives us things to talk about. Once they throw the ball up it all goes out the window.

Lyons is a partial qualifier and will not play this year.
He can earn a 4th year a la Monty Scott if he is scheduled to graduate on time.

I think it's hilarious that Xavier got more pre-season player honor this year, than they did post-season honors for last year's 30-win team.

I have been a media voter for the preseason A10 womens teams before and if I recall, the voting is done weeks in advance, so its very likely the voting predated the Mark Lyons ineligibility news.
The other thing is you cannot vote for anybody that plays for the team in your media market so I could not vote for UD players. Im not sure how that works in Philly, but Im guessing each media person is attached to a particular program there and can vote for other Philly players.
This is how it WAS done. Dont know if its still this way.
