Ibi Watson declares for the Draft
Not really a surprise if you follow it

Just like Jalen, he is eligible to return (which he will)

Isn't it 3 (Toppin, Crutcher, Watson)?

1st, what Brad said.
I'm pretty sure Scooch and Cooke both declared/returned after their junior season.

Players testing waters for 2020 NBA Draft will make grim discovery:
'That process doesn't exist this year'
Why, then, are there so many players on that list?
One high-major coach who had a player enter said this: “He’s just putting his name in because it’s the cool thing to do.”
That appears to be the only logical explanation.
“We typically have a robust process for underclassmen, and I place a high value on it. But the wheels are not even turning,” one Western Conference executive told Sporting News. “That process doesn’t exist this year.
“We’re not going to be having workouts, as far as I can tell. I like bringing in the underclassmen to test, and it’s very valuable. We can’t even watch a workout of a kid on video, because that would put kids in gyms when they shouldn’t be there.”

Likely to get their name out. If he has a monster senior year, it might help his name recognition, not a lot more.

It's too bad that Crutch and Ibi won't get feedback like Obi did. Obi used that feedback to improve his game and become a lottery pick.

These players are simply taking advantage of the free opportunity to get on scouts watch lists.
And why not ?

I love this guy. He is going to explode next year. Just needs to work on his ball handling a bit.

Make no mistake about it; Ibi can ball. This team is going to be overlooked due to the obvious loss of Obi. But Ibi, Jalen and Rodney are going to deliver another memorable season.

>>One high-major coach who had a player enter said this: “He’s just putting his name in because it’s the cool thing to do.”>>
Some of you on the younger end may not know this, but back in the day, the NBA didn't draft underclassmen. After Spencer Haywood successfully sued them, the league adopted a policy that guys could demonstrate "financial hardship" and apply for early entry into the league. "Hardship" quickly became "I (think) I can play ball at that level.
Meanwhile, the league draft used to be 10 rounds, up through the mid-80's. No way any team was going to bring on 10 new guys, and I think the later round draft choices were pretty off-the-cuff.
So when I was in college (late 70's) a guy who didn't play college ball and maybe even hadn't played high school ball dropped his name in as a hardship case. He was from a school with a high caliber hoops program, so he got drafted, sight unseen. I can't find the guy's name, but he can always say he was drafted in the NBA.

I agree. I'm a bit shocked that we aren't in some of these preseason top 25 lists. I know, a poll at this stage is corny anyway, but by what logic are we not one of the best 25 squads in the nation?
Don't get me wrong we lost 3 absolute Flyer legends, but we have a few more Flyer legends on this team and I find it very hard to believe they will go gently into that good night. I've said this in another thread and I don't think it is hyperbolic at all to suggest we have the best back court in the country if Jalen returns. And they are all extremely experienced seniors.
