If they allow those without calling intentional (fouling without ball being inbounded and clock stopped) why don't more teams do the same except foul the worst shooter?

Won it at the line as we hit 9-11 to their 4-6. That is half of what they average a game from the line. Only 6 turnovers to their 9. Rebounds, number of shots and shooting percentage pretty even.
Heck of a game by Landers on both ends, and those foul shots were pure ice.
Crutcher's three won that game. Huge, huge shot for a Frosh.

Where would we be without Lander's hail mary at the shot clock buzzer?
Crutcher is going to be a great, great player for us in the future as long as he gets better at creating shots for others which I believe he will.

Controlled turnovers. 6 to Davidson’s 9. We were out rebounded 30-26 but shot about the same as the Wildcats. Matched up with a good team and still have the second half of the conference to play.

Good win for the Flyers. I didn't get to watch or listen to the game - what was the technical on Josh called for? Justified? Give em h*ll Josh!

I want more balls inside. That's all. Assisting 3 point shots is not all I ask out of a PG. Again, I'm fine with how he's progressed as a freshman, but to be elite as a PG, he's going to need to facilitate more of an inside game for the team.
Let me ask you this. As a freshman do you not expect him to improve quite a bit in the his following years? And if you do expect to see him improve, where do you see that improvement taking place? I say facilitating the ball movement better and getting it inside among other things.

It was justified. They call an elbow toward the head every time intentional or not.

Smitty. Very foggy about the 68-69 game. I think I was watching it at Carl’s Tavern on Wyoming Street. We lost 64-63. Davidson went 27-3 that year. We got dusted by Colorado State in the NCAA 54-52. Geez. Was that really 49 years ago?

The biggest improvement is generally between freshman and sophomore years. So yes, I expect improvement. Tonight they were doubling Josh in the post, even while playing a zone. The young man is in control and doesn’t force it.

I agree with you. My point is he will get better. And that's an area to concentrate on. Sheesh, I compliment a player and still get crap for not complimenting him enough.

The Davidson guy had a hold of Josh's arm for several seconds. Josh got a bit frustrated and pulled his arm up, letting his elbow fly into the defender's head. Flagrant on Josh, and foul on the defender. Correct call.

A lot of times at the end of games they won't call a foul unless it is the player with the ball. I was shocked to see that off-ball call. Actually, though, I think it is a good thing to do. A "foul is a foul," no matter when it occurs on the clock.

The ref was staring right at the play and the Davidson player really sold the action by faking a head snap. Not much else to say, except Davidson also plays a physical brand of defense with a lot of stuff going on that is overlooked. Then there is the way their offensive ball handlers clear space by swinging the ball back and forth with elbows flying.
