44% free throw shooting percentage, he will fit right in with this team
Seriously, on most teams in the valley, Trey could average 35+ points a night. He is on a loaded team with multiple college prospects, and does not try to do too much. The team has great depth, so based on what I have seen (and heard) Trey may only play 20 minutes or so per game on average.
He should be a great pick up for our Flyers, and will have ample opportunity for a ton of playing time from his sophomore year and beyond.

Trey reminds of Chris Wright in a couple of ways
1) He is a great athlete
2) He has a college ready body. He is a man among boys in HS.
Trice certainly prepares his players well for college. Xeyrius is one of the best defenders on the team and one of the most versatile as well.

Playing guard, I hope he has a better handle and outside shot than Chris.
So with Pierre back this year, we still have one open ship. Sounds like a transfer.

Changed the title of the thread to "Next Year's Recruit" because in all likeliehood Trey Landers is gonna be it (plus Josh Cunningham will be eligible).

Why?
10 months till practice starts for next year. The way kids jump ship, graduate and have one year left to play elsewhere, coaches get fired and guys decommit, etc., I would be amazed if we did not pick up another recruit between now and then. One scholarship is currently open, which I can not believe Archie would not use if the right guy came along.

It seemed like Archie really wanted that NYC kid, Christian Vital, who ended up choosing UNLV over Dayton after visiting both. But Dave Rice's seat is getting awfully warm. If Rice is canned, Vital will be rethinking that choice for sure. Just sayin...

Don't know if the Flyers have an interest in Andre Wesson but he could be one to keep an eye on.

To add to what ClaytonFlyerFan said, Xeyrius only averaged 11.4 ppg for Wayne last year. That team probably had a little more talent then this year's squad, but that's not a program that mints ultra-stars. Instead Trice has a well-schooled basketball t-e-a-m. There's good reason Archie's went to the well twice.

Highlights from this past Saturdays Wayne game. UD commit Trey Landers and sophomore UD target Blue Smith are featured.

I only see dunks from Landers. How good of an outside shot is he?

In the Northmont game he didn't take any outside shots. All of his points were at the basket or at the free throw line. It was a strange game but I didn't read into it too much since his height and strength was a factor. He was primarily under the basket for three quarters and didn't need to move to the perimeter.

Coach Travis Trice is a teriffic coach and an equally honorable man. He has turned out some very good student athletes. If they act up or don't do their class work, they don't play.
