Kyle Davis
I watched a couple of his games last year and was not impressed other than his speed. Wow, Archie can judge talent. His defense is as good as "the Jet" without the overplays, and on offense the kid can play. Great court sense.

So great to see him get major minutes and play so well against good competition. That confidence is huge. At some point we will need that depth

Cobbs was going off the reservation. Kid is a PAC12 stud. Vee has the assignment and was getting hurt. Archie put Kyle on him and Cal's offense was never the same. Cobbs still got a few baskets, but Davis disrupted him enough to get in his head and take him out of the zone. You could see Davis embraced the assignment.
The dunk was pure filth. Like Waleskowski down Broadway.

I watched 4-5 games of Kyle Davis last year and my thought was he will be the fastest UD player with the ball since Johnny Davis. Great defender and super quick. His weakness was shooting, although nothing wrong with his form.

He has a lot to learn but I love how fearless he is, they put him on Cobbs in the second half and he shut him down as well as anyone could, and that dunk, WOW he exploded on that one and it should have been an and one. His jumper looks much better than I expected as well, I like this kid a lot.

I think got one shot in transition, which was blocked, one shot when kyle went to the bench, then one or two more when Kyle came in, one of which was with Pierre on Cobb. Great, great job be Kyle. I forget who said it, I think Chris, but he reminds me a ton of mark lyons, hopefully without the extra crap

actually if you watch Kyle in warmups before home games he has started to shoot the ball much better in warmups.
Interesting the Arch turned to a freshman. Price could keep Cobbs in front of him, he just wasn't all enough to bother his shot.

He was definitely doing some taunting in the second half. Not my favorite thing in the world, but he was backing it up that's for sure.

His floor vision and intellectual game are off the charts. Not to wear it out, but these 3 guards are going to be a nightmare for opponents in the not to distant future. Kyle's 10 point second half allowed us to breathe easy in the second half. His attitude reminded me of Tony Stanley. As long as it doesn't cost us technicals, I'm good with it.

its the ball movement combined with the ability to attack off the bounce that makes them tough. This year there is no one stopping the ball.

When this team is moving the ball, they look almost unstoppable offensively.

I was yelling at the TV "PUT DAVIS IN!" Watching him in person against GT, he has an absolutely crazy nose for the ball. Not polished on offense yet but the guy is instant energy on defense. In 1 possession tonight, he:
1. Stripped the ball (which bounced back to Cal)
2. Tipped a pass (which made it to the Cal player)
3. Stripped the ball from the Cal player who drove to the hoop
1 possession, 3 deflections!!! His hands are everywhere, and he does it (somehow) without fouling very much.
Folks we have witnessed the birth of our defensive stopper in the last 10 days. I think AM will now turn to him any time the opponent is heating up and AM needs a stop.

There was a possession in the first half were I think the entire team took one dribble, everyone touched the ball, it was worked inside and outside again and again and it ended with a wide open mad three by Sanford, it was beautiful.

Yes. I call this offense the anti-Dillard offense. I've never seen a team move the ball as this team.

His dunk was #3 on Sports Center. I believe that was the 6'9" guy he went up over.

Kyle's HS coach was quoted as saying that Davis was a one-man gang on defense, capable of dominating the floor game.

Love KD's hands, quickness, fast-break ability and swagger (as long as it doesn't get out of hand). Other than developing a consistent outside shot, his next step is gaining a better feel for the half-court offense. Ball movement seems to slow down out top when he's in, but I'm confident this will come along.

The next hot shooting guard we run into is HIS. Nice to have someone show that kind of ability as a freshman.
