My wife's birthday is March 1. I don't know what to get her. Now I am thinking she would really like a Flyer A10 regular season championship.

Really the only 2 things that changed is that Wednesday becomes a must win for VCU(which I don't like) and that we can afford to lose at GW(which I don't want).

Coming in from California for the game. I think it is a coin-flip game. But the senior class has been nothing short of amazing. Kyle Davis is my all-time favorite Flyer.

My commute is a bit shorter - um, Columbus - and midweek games are kind of tough for me without an 8:00 p.m. start. However, I couldn't imagine not seeing the last home game of this senior class. It's been an exciting four years.

Will be a great environment at the Arena on Wednesday.
UD wins and they are an absolute lock for the tourney.
Plus, Senior night for this special group.

Curious, do you think that VCU is the better team all things being equal? Being senior night, on our home court, after having played them at their place only losing by 5, I would think it's Flyers by more than a coin flip. Especially since no team has beaten us twice during the regular season since SJ 3 years 4 seasons ago.

I am a big believer in kenpom. Dayton predicted to win 74-68 and win 68% of the time. But I think VCU matches up well versus Dayton, particularly their offensive rebounding. So I think closer game. Also borderline must win for VCU. So Dayton will be favored but not by much.

Meh, I don't think it's anymore a must win for VCU than it is for UD. True it locks things up if UD wins, but you have to assume that both UD and VCU will win their final games and can't depend on Richmond or RI to do things either way.
I think the momentum and crowd carry the Flyers to anything from an 7 to a 15 point victory. And if it's in the low end of that range, it's only because of closing the gap in garbage time. 4 senior stars on senior night at home for championship after coming off a sweet, sweet road win, it's all Flyers this time. Also, don't underestimate 4 days rest for the road team compared to 5 for the home team.
Now with that said, after UD thumps VCU, I wouldn't be a bit surprised and might actually predict a road loss to GW.

Having a hard time thinking of a bigger regular season game at the Arena in recent memory . . . X in 2009? If you exclude the X games (such a big rivalry) - when was the last game of this magnitude you remember?

Ha! My memory is not that bad - I do remember that one. Thanks for posting the vid - agree that ended up being a great night. But I still say this year is bigger for the following reasons:
1. Dayton can clinch the title outright this year. Dayton had to win to get a share of the championship last year.
2. Much more momentum/optimism this year . . . riding an 8 game winning streak and healthy (knock on wood). Last year we were hitting the skids. Lost three of five going into that game - and the couple wins we had were very shaky.
3. No revenge factor last year (that was the only regular season game against VCU I believe). Get a chance to avenge our road loss to VCU earlier this year.
4. Every Senior night is emotional, but the Arena will say goodbye to the winningest Seniors in history on Wednesday.
Now not saying we will match the excitement of an OT last second win, but I think the set-up is better this year.

There are only 13 tickets left from UD right now unless they suddenly release more like they did last week a day or two before the Mason game. They're in the last 2 rows of 406. There are resale tickets from UD and Stubhub available beyond that of course.

I have never been more confident about a big game that I can remember.
That means we're going to lose! I guess that's still not very confident after all.

Like your optimism but this game will be no different than last years game and go down to the wire. VCU is a heck of a team and are physical as hell. They have a very prideful team and an excellent coach. I'll be happy to take VCU and 7 points if you're giving....

I hesitate to post this but since when has that stopped me. One of the things that BG did good was getting the team up for the big games vs _avier. Particularly at home. I would love to see this team come out on fire and take it to VCU from the start.

Just checked again and all the tickets in 406 are gone, but there are now 15 available in the front few rows of 407. So they released some more today that weren't available today.

I can't imagine it not selling out. The Senior Night ceremony is before the game at 7:45. Red Panda is at half-time and the '67 NCAA runner-up team will be honored during a time-out.
I feel good about winning out this week. Despite slow starts, the guys are feeling it! Different players step up when needed. I think they'll be OK. Big Steve is watching over them.

Last season the team was deteriorating due probably to internal personal issues between players. As mentioned, this is more like a Xavier game after they beat us by 15 at their place and then coming here when the Flyers have found themselves. This team and fans will rock them out of the Arena. You didn't accept my bet with Wehrli's minutes last year, I'll pass this year. We'll just wait and see. It's for bragging rights.

VCU has gone 3-17 and 1-15 from 3pt range the last two games and against RI got outrebounded 30-48.
We'd better come out swinging because VCU will be making sure they do NOT repeat those performances.

They shoot 34% on the year, versus our 38%. Lewis is at 40% on 191 attempts, so he can shoot very well. All the rest are mediocre.
VCU has only two weaknesses, that is outside shooting, and giving up the easy shot when they overplay on defense. However, that is it, as they play great defense, rebound very well and share the ball on offense. They average 13 turnovers, and we are at 12.
