That's insane. If there was 1 player I'd take from any A10 team for our Flyers, it's Mo. And nobody else.
Maybe he made All-WWF 1st team?!

Was there ever a doubt that Archie would get COY? I'm sure there were arguments from some outside of the Flyers faithful but what coach would look at what happened last May, and also knowing the Flyers won the A10 regular season championship outright, wouldn't vote for him. If I was a coach, I would be amazed and impressed and thinking to myself, "I'm so glad I wasn't put in his shoes and I hope I never will be. But if I ever am, I know who I would contact for consultation if it ever did happen to my player and my team."

And that would be the correct pick because he has what the Flyers lack the most. But obviously he having what the Flyers lack has made him stand out against us more than anyone else. I have to believe he doesn't present quite the dominance against most of the other teams in the A10 or he would be first team.

He's got an NBA body, he might be the one guy most likely to end up playing in the NBA out of that whole group.

Good observation. A quick look at his game log shows his season high of 23 pts was against us, and in 18 A10 games he only scored double digits in 8 of them...and had 0 games with double-digit rebounds.
http://www.espn.com/mens-college-bas...08/mo-alie-cox
Regardless, I'd take him over anyone else if for no other reason than to watch him work out.

He has an NBA body if he were at least 6'10". Problem is he is 6'6". He has an NFL body which is where he can probably make more money.

The queen and I sat behind the VCU bench last week and she commented that he needed to be in Hollywood as a stunt double or WWF as the next 'Rock'. His calves are bigger than my head. He's a beast. In my prime there weren't many people I'd hate to meet in the Royal squared circle...and there's no doubt I wouldn't want to see him there...unless I'm the Royal Heavyweight Championship of the World ref!
I mean, c'mon...there are benefits to being a royal ref that go beyond the $$$$.

Cox? He is 6'6 at best. He already struggles against guys in college that are taller and can handle his size. He has no outside game at all. No chance he plays in the NBA more than Chris Johnson. Against us last year when he was against Big Steve he only went for 12pts and 6rb and Steve blocked him twice.

If he had any range outside of a dunk or put back then maybe but he has none at least what I've seen.....Granted, he's got a ridiculous body, tremendous strength, and a very quick jumper but he'll need to handle it to create and face the bucket.Stranger things have happened though and if he got a chance who knows.......I've seen enough guys I've labeled as no chance or guys I thought were a sure thing fool me...

Hopefully this will be Kiefaber in about 12 days. Followed by a congratulations tweet from Donald John Trump.
Congratulations to Ryan Miller on A10 Coach of the year. And all UD players receiving all conference honors.

KP has been great, I wouldn't trade him for anybody else in the league, but does his numbers really merit anything better than 3rd team? For comparison, Cooke averaged more points, more rebounds, more assists, and more blocks. And that is someone else on his own team. Of the 10 guys in front of him, I think they are all deserving to be in front of him. KP is probably in the 10-15 range as far as best players in the conference.

I think our representation in these awards is fitting for the season we had.
We can argue about 1st, 2nd, 3rd team and so on. But we had 5 different people recognized (Miller, Scoochie, Cooke, KP, KD). Most any other school had was 3. We should be proud of these guys. On and off the court.

That would be a super entertaining game to watch. Scoochie is the 2nd tallest guy on the 1st team. 2nd team has 3 guys 6'7"+. He probably gets matched up with Peyton Aldridge. Neither guy would be able to guard the other.
I'm going with the 1st team - they will have Archie on their bench...

I'm glad all 4 seniors were honored. Speaks well for these guys that brought so much to the trueteam concept. Sure there were a couple bumps n 4 years, but they know they are better as a trueteam.

Let's look at the first team:
Jack Gibbs, Davidson - not an NBA player IMO. Great college player, good at getting his shot, far inferior to Brian Roberts and BR can barely make it.
Scoochie Smith, Dayton - not an NBA player IMO. Phenomenal college PG. Good range. Just too small for the NBA without lightening quickness.
T.J. Cline, Richmond - not an NBA player. At all.
Jaylen Adams, St. Bonaventure - good player, may be an NBA talent. Can certainly score the ball and has another year to go, but at 185 pounds and 6'2" he's got an uphill climb.
JeQuan Lewis, VCU - again, good player, but at 6'0" and 180 I don't see the NBA in his future.
Now, could Mo Alie-Cox, a fully formed man at 6'7" and 250, carve our a niche for himself in the NBA as a rebounder and defender? I'm not saying it's definitely happening. All I said was he might have the best chance of playing in the NBA of that group. There are some other talents at the 2nd and 3rd team level that are physically really talented too but maybe head cases.

Jack Gibbs "far inferior" to Brian Roberts? Inferior maybe, but far inferior? Can you expand as to why?
Also, why is TJ Cline not an NBA player at all? Seems he can play off the bench.

Ditto. The guy is a great rebounder, particularly on the offensive boards. He's a quick leaper, chiseled (though not like Moe-Allie Cox) and, while primarily a scorer off dunks and layups, he appears to have a soft touch out to eight feet or so. Passable at the stripe, too. Good defender, although mostly in recovery mode as a shot-blocker. Plus, we recruited him fairly heavily. Would love to have seen Archie nab him.

If you gave me the opportunity to pick one player from VCU to play for the Flyers I would pick Tillman! He is a "player" and will be a star when he is senior.

IMO Roberts is quicker, a better defender, and a better shooter. Roberts worst year shooting from 3 was 41% (43, 41, 46, 46) while Gibbs best year was 43% (32, 43, 34, 40).
Cline is 6'9" and 230. I picked 1 team at random, the Celtics, because they were the first team listed. They have 8 guys on their roster under 230. They are 6'7", 6'4", 6'6", 6'7", 6'1", 6'2", 5'9", and 6'2". He's not a great outside shooter, and he's not a great athlete. I don't see it. He's a system player.

[QUOTE=Gazoo;493594]He's got an NBA body, he might be the one guy most likely to end up playing in the NBA out of that whole group.
After his Freshman year, I thought KP had the explosiveness to be an NBA player. It's unfortunate that he had the knee issues. He definitely lost a step since his first year as a Flyer. I absolutely love his game and what he brings every single night! KP will go down as one of my favorite Flyers of all time.

Who does not play great defense, and his rebounding is average.
