Rhody demolition
Well, this is the Flyers team I think we expected to see Tuesday night, against a struggling St. Louis team. Looks like whatever message was sent this week, it was received.
1. Crutcher and Obi were outstanding.
2. Nice to see JD hit some buckets and a three.
3. Still hate seeing Mikesell and Landers shoot 3s. Not their strength. Mikesell with another block inside and Trey took it to the hole a couple times, more like his kind of game.
4. Nice to hear the comments from Landers about not starting. True team player.
5. Good bounceback game for Josh. Had 10 or 12 points I think. Still struggled with first FT.
6. We rebounded significantly better today, though there were still times we let them get too many offensive boards.
7. Great defense for the entire game.
8. Not too many turnovers. You can excuse Crutcher for a couple trying to get the ball to Obi, but a couple were head scratchers. Mikesell still makes lazy passes that drive me crazy.
9. Nice to see a big blowout win on the road. Wish Frankie had gotten some more playing time.
10 Great to have a week off to recover before next game.
Go Flyers!

Best tempo/pace of the AG era in the first half of the game to get a big league. Team pushed the pace and built a big lead playing fast and aggressive
Maybe my memory is off but this seemed like one of Crutcher's best games attacking and finishing of the year

I don't mind mikesell shooting 3's when he takes his time and sets his feet when he's open. If he's rushed even in the slightest it's ugly. Landers should never shoot the 3.

This game was won in practice this week. Or, perhaps in the locker room after the STL debacle.

Crutcher beat Fats like he was his little brother out on the driveway!
It was almost like Fats said something early on to tick off Crutcher, or maybe Grant challenged his manhood. Still too much dribbling by Crutcher, but not much he did wrong today. A Brian Roberts like performance.
A couple of guys have taken it up a notch on this team, namely Obi and Crutcher and left Landers in the dust. I am very concerned about Cunningham. He is still one of our best five, but that left leg is hurting.

Best played 40 minutes of the year, and not just by the eyeball test.
The metrics agree, too. We've had games where our Offensive Efficiency was better. We've had games where our Defensive Efficiency was better. But the only time we actually put it together on both ends of the court, in the same game, before today was against Detroit.
We were actually more efficient on both offense and defense (130 adjusted Off Eff, 81 adjusted Def Eff), and it was against a better team, and on their home court. A delightful viewing experience, and an indicator of just how plausible an auto-bid is if our guys can keep it together and play to their potential for 3 days in Brooklyn.

I actually thought Cunningham returned to form somewhat. He didn’t force anything, did his work in the paint for the most part and had enough lift to throw one down. I don’t think he’s 100 percent, but it seemed to me he may have turned a corner. Or, maybe that’s just wishful thinking on my part.

This was one of our better games beginning to end.
Glad to see Cohill asserting himself more and more on the offensive end. It is easy to see his improvement game to game.
Cunningham had a decent game, but he seems to be less active than earlier in the year. I am concerned that he is quietly dealing with a lingering injury.
Rest up Flyers. Next game could be for a share of first place!

Only if the wildcats stumble at Fordham or against St Joe's . . .
But just keep winning!

What a dismantling today! Was sitting right behind the UD bench and you could tell the energy and effort was there today, especially compared to Tuesday's debacle. The URI fans were very complimentary of the Flyers and multiple people said to me "you guys have a great team". I kind of chuckled because although they were right today it hasn't been that way every game. Also had multiple people say how impressed with Obi they were and hope he stays for at least a few years.
Talked to Obi's mom and she told me her other son, who was there and goes to Woodstock Academy, is starting to blow up on the recruiting scene because of the attention that Obi is starting to get.

Which is the real UD team? The team that was blasted by a depleted St. Louis team or the team that destroyed a Rhode Island?
The answer is yes. This team is both as are many teams in the A10. Davidson leading the conference has two ugly losses.
The league is unpredictable. Each team can have a good night or bad night.

AG definitely sent a message this week. Maybe this will be a point in the season where they realize what they’re capable of and start bringing a more consistent performance to the table

Games like this are why you start your best 5. Obi helped us gain the early 10-12 point lead and we never looked back. Glad Grant made the starting lineup change and that Landers is being a team player about it.

Ryan is a lifetime 1 for 3 three point shooter who is unlikely to change. But really 33% is not much different than 35% which many seem to think is a serviceable %. He is just good enough to keep the defense honest. The defense still flies at him when he spots up which unbalances the court.

I wish Mr. Whiney was still coaching Rhode Island yesterday. He would have been apoplectic with his arms flapping like the SJU eagle and whining to the refs.
