We need Steve in this game. Don't take him out until he fouls out.

Cut it to 10 with 1423 left and we have momentum and Archie subs??!?!??!?!?!? 2 minutes later and down 14.
What is Archie doing, 12 minute rest does not matter at that point.
Seriously!??!?!?!??!?!?!?

So the Rams kept this Berry, their secret weapon, under wraps until this game? Is he really perfect with his shots?

Dayton absolutely deserves to lose this game. And it's not looking any better for the next 3. Finish the season with 5/6 loses- that's NIT folks

We need to play like we have nothing to lose. whats the worst that could happen? This game is no longer winnable with ball movement and man to man defense. We have to trap them, force turnover and push the ball like hell.

I don't usually give up this early but it's clearly not going to happen today. Warm up the bus and then figure out what the he11 is wrong with this team and fix it in the next 2 weeks.

We all wanted Pollard back. Well we got him 2-10. Most shots taken. If he makes his usual 5 or 6 shots, we are in the game.

People heading for the exits already. Can't blame them. This was a waste of $100+ of my hard-earned money. And now, down 18. Make that 16.

Nothing to cheer about today except KP getting minutes. Letting Berry get 15 is a joke, no one was even guarding him most of the time. We've missed a lot of point blank looks, not wide open necessarily but point blank. Disappointing.

At the current level of play- I don't see any way of winning any of the next 3 games unless they start to play the way they did in January. And if you think Dayton is a lock for the dance- you're only kidding yourself - especially if the lose next 3

Defense not a problem, perhaps this game, but that is not it. Rhode is 5/8 from 3 and yes open looks, but some have been lucky like the the one that bounced off the side of the rim, off the backboard and in.

I don't care where we rank in defense for the season. Today we rank last and we stink. RI shotting 57% FG and over 50% 3PFG.

So maybe at least one good thing came from today's game. When they actually give a crap they do have their own version of a havoc defense. Yay.

9-0 run.
We need to keep this going. Foul if we must. We are finally playing basketball. I guess the players are as embarrassed as we are with the first 30 minutes of play.

Why didn't AM open the game with a full court press? Or at least the second half. Amazing how a team can get rattled by it huh? I don't see RI choking this one though

Going to Dayton for the VCU game and the team that I want to see is the one that made that late run, not the one that started the game.
Don't know if D Davis would have made a difference, but we needed him.

If we play like this on the road next week, we lose by 20.
It's time for this team to dig deep and figure out who they really are: the team that was ranked 12th in the country just two weeks ago or the team that has been playing heartless sloppy basketball since. We will find out soon enough.

Dayton is now a 8/9 seed and dropping fast. I am biggest homer in the world, but ...

What a joke. Can't believe we can't beat a short-handed team like URI at home. KP got a chance to knock some rust off, which is good I guess. But why can't we get just good games (not great) from DP, CC, SS during the same game? I'm biased, but I think Big Mike gets some BS calls, but he NEVER gets a chance to get into any sort of flow in a game. I still think this team could be really, really good if we can hit on all cylinders and Archie has proven to be able to get us there, so I'm still positive, but man we gotta win games. Period.

By now this team should know they need to bring the intensity from the start of the game and they don't. There's something wrong mentally. Cooke is pathetic at the start of games. Big Steve can't get it through his head that he can't pick up cheap fouls. 3 point shooting is forced and rushed. Rebounding is non-existent on the offense. Players standing around in middle of shot clock. Freshman adding nothing.

You think they dance if they lose the next 3? That would be 6 losses in the last 7 with the only win over lowly St. Louis. That's worthy of NIT

I was just saying relax about the 7 seed in the NIT thing, but I'm with you in terms possibly losing the next 3, they could be NIT bound
But, I don't believe that will happen

They say that after playing, is when Pollard has to sit again. He might have to let the rust build up before we see him again. Things looking kind of bleak right now.

If we want to lock up a bid, we better win the next two. A very tall order the way we have been playing. Otherwise, we will be heading to NY with the entire season on the line.

Yeah, I've seen that, too, but I was thinking I'd rather see him playing every other game and learning how to bounce back than sitting and hoping, but that's a tough call. Hope the medical team knows best.

Late game play was solid.
At the next team meeting (happening now?), show video of the last 5 minutes of each half. Big difference in D...right? Also, why does Archie not pressure the three... especially since they were nailing half of their attempts!
Other contributing factors: rusty Pollard, mia Davis, lots of blown layups and ole' defense under the basket.
Still good if the adjustments are made. Otherwise, start making other plans for selection Sunday.

I just can't figure out how a team can transform like this for such a long stretch of time. I've heard of funks but this seems to have gone well beyond a funk. The next two will not be easy either.
