Hara Arena? Has anyone been by it lately? Torn down
I heard they were going to develop the land and make it a corporate campus. Kinda makes me sad, but guess they let it go to waste.. Can't have hobo's hangig around..
When we lived in dayton we used to go to Gem games and soccer as well.
One of my highlights at Hara was seeing Al Sicard play when he was in hs..
Always thought hed be a star.. Was a great athlete. not a great college basketball play

I have been by HARA within the past month or so. The building is still there, looks like crap. Wind was out of the north and I could still smell the stale beer / **** smell from the overflowing toilets during 80's hair band concerts! Even a bit of skunk smell in the air as well! I too miss old school hockey, both the Gems and later the Bombers who had a good few years at HARA before going to Nutter and losing their loyal fan base.

Miss the Bombers and concerts more than anything. Better fights in the stands than on the ice half the time. Dollar beer nights were always a thing of beauty.

Loved the big flea market style sales that Hara used to have pretty consistently. Got a great pair of speakers there 20+ years ago for something like $50 that still work great. Saw a couple concerts there as well, and thought it worked pretty good as a concert venue. Sad to see it go.
