Saint Louis Game Thread
Beat SLU... Nuff Said... We need to punch them right in the mouth. They got their 1st conference win tonight vs. Duquesne.
Game is a 12:30 Matinee on Saturday afternoon and will be shown on the NBC Sports Network.
Starting Lineup:
G 0 Marcus Bartley 6’4” 170 FR Decatur, IL
G 5 Davell Roby 6’4” 200 FR Memphis, TN
G 3 Ash Yacoubou 6’4” 210 RS JR Bronx, NY
F 4 Milik Yarbrough 6’6” 230 FR Zion, IL
C 54 John Manning 6’11” 250 SR Chantilly, VA
A win will likely get us back into the Top 25 with a 15-2 record... Then head to NC for a showdown with McKillop's boys in Davidson.
Go UD!

Those are some tall guards they throw out there. SLU has beat us in the past a few times with lesser talent and team. The Flyers need to keep focus and not rest on their laurels.

Dayton is 20 points stronger than St Louis (according to Sagarin), however, the opening line has typically been a couple points off Sagarin.
My guess is UD will open -18.
Going back to the 60's, the Billikens always seem to give us a good game.
So, if I didn't have an emotional investment in this game, I'd put down a yard or two and take the points.

Per the "Ask Larry and Bucky" segment on the pregame show, Jordan is "good to go" for today with just a little bit of swelling. Rogers, as pointed out in the thread with the same name, is back in street clothes today.

They are letting KD shoot the 3 at will. I would like to see DD in for a spell. I'f they leave him open like this this will be a double digit lead before they can blink

A time or two already Sibert has looked a bit slow. I would love to see him only play about 15 minutes today in a Flyer blowout. Get him healthy for what should be the tougher games coming up.

9 - 0 start. Would love to see a blow out.
Did I hear the announcer before the start say that he thought our guards were among the best in the nation?

Darrell Davis has not taken a shot. He needs to get in the offense, especially as poor as we are shooting.

Hoping our string of very strong 2nd halves continues, as quite frankly we look bad in the first half, lucky to have the lead. Maybe I am bad luck, fortunately for the Flyers I will miss the last 5 minutes or so of the game.

Hope we turn it on in the second half like we did against Fordham. Not a great half but good enough against SLU to be in the lead 27 - 22. Our expectations are increasing due to the 7 game winning streak.

Great defense, but as bad offense as we have played in the last nine games. We must have shot about 20% in the last ten minutes.

I love Kyle and Schoochies agressiveness on defense, if we had an 11 man rotation like last year. But we don't, so you have to play smarter guys! 4 fouls on Davis and 3 on Schoch with 8 to go.

Sir KP!
Before Kendall Pollard graduates, I fully expect him to be the first active Flyer to earn a spot on the Royal Roundtable.

I thought the team played well and they played smart. I thought early on that St Louis was playing good defense and really looking to draw charges. Thankfully the team didn't fall for that often.

Attendance....
.....reported as 13,455....amazing. Isn't that a sell-out or very close to it?
We'd better be prepared for some heartburn. Our wonderkin are not going to finish the season undefeated....as invincible as they now appear.
Meanwhile.....how sweet it is.....Go Flyers!

Good win despite a poor shooting performance, especially from beyond the arc. We out-hustled and out-rebounded a taller team (again!). Defense was solid all game long.
Looking forward to being in the Top25 heading into the big game on Tuesday.

Maybe by sales but not by butts in the seats. Swaths empty student section seats in the upper Arena. Again.

Certainly would be nice, but 2 wins over no accounts may not be enough.
Should we get by Davidson and Richmond we are definitely in the mix of 25.

Certainly would be nice, but 2 wins over no accounts may not be enough.
Should we get by Davidson and Richmond we are definitely in the mix of 25.

The reason I think we'll be in is that several top 25 teams lost this week. We'll know soon enough.

We'll be in the top 25 on Monday. Not so much for the teams we've played but because we didn't lose and almost every team from 18-25 lost this past week.
