2021 A10T odds
Just seems like the favorite usually does not win these tournaments, usually it seems to be a hungry bubble team or a team on a hot streak.
No clear cut favorite this year, no real ncaat locks either.
VCU, SBU, SLU, and Richmond are all on the bubble. I have not followed this closely, but VCU and SBU seem to be in.
I will pick SLU or Richmond to win it. I just do not see us getting it done, sorry.

I think a lot of it will obviously depend on match ups. Do we even know where we will be ranked in this group yet? Guessing somewhere between six and 10?

Based on percentages, we are in 7th place right now. I show that we can finish anywhere between 4th and 9th.
To get 4th place, this is what I show: - Saint Louis beats Richmond
- VCU beats Davidson
- La Salle beats George Mason
- Massachusetts beats Saint Louis
- Dayton beats Saint Bonaventure
- Saint Josephs beats Richmond
The GW/Stb and URI/ Duq don't matter for Dayton getting 4th place.

2. Saint Bonaventure 10- 3 : 1-1 57.03 27.34 12.50 3.12

Ironically the one I feel least confident in is UD beating SBU.

If I'm betting actual money, I'm putting it on SLU. I don't see any way they are getting an At-Large. I know that buzz is still out there, but .500 in the A10 doesn't get it done.
I think they are desperate, and they are still one of the more talented teams in the conference. That's a dangerous combination.

Not me. 2 losses to us says a lot. They also lost to VCU who didn’t have their best player. No one is a lock but it would be hard to bet against VCU

My initial thought would be there is no way SLU is winning it. Unfortunately, they just haven't played enough games to get a consistency to win 3 games in 3 days. Then I realized, they don't need to win 3 games in 3 days.
Can they win back to back and then re-group and win the final a week later. That I think they can do. I still like SBU or VCU, but the off-time between the semi-final and the final does open the door to the slightly inconsistent teams. They now only need to win back to back games before re-setting for the final. I think this opens up the possible teams that can win it all...even Dayton, depending on match-ups. I never would have picked this year's Dayton team to win 3 or 4 games in consecutive days, but 2 games then 1...maybe.

Our problem in this year’s A10T is, with our likely seeding, we’ll need to beat at least 1 bottom-feeder in order to advance...and we’ve shown no ability whatsoever to do that this year. We could win the whole thing...or we could lose our first game by 25. The odds of either happening are probably about equal.

I would not want to play Dayton. Their topside can beat any A10 team. I think we will be up for our first game. The bottom side would struggle against my teammates from Holy Angels.
I just hope we will bring it.

This is my Sunday update:
Code:
1. Saint Bonaventure 11- 3 : 0-0 100.00
2. Virginia Commonwealth 10- 4 : 0-0 100.00
3. Massachusetts 6- 3 : 0-0 50.00 25.00 25.00
4. Davidson 7- 4 : 0-0 25.00 50.00 25.00
5. Richmond 6- 4 : 0-0 25.00 25.00 12.50 25.00 12.50
6. George Mason 8- 6 : 0-0 25.00 50.00 25.00
7. Saint Louis 5- 4 : 0-0 25.00 25.00 25.00 25.00
8. Dayton 8- 7 : 0-0 12.50 50.00 37.50
9. Duquesne 7- 7 : 0-0 25.00 75.00
10. Rhode Island 7-10 : 0-0 100.00
11. George Washington 3- 5 : 0-0 100.00
12. La Salle 6-11 : 0-0 100.00
13. Saint Josephs 2- 9 : 0-0 100.00
14. Fordham 2-11 : 0-0 100.00
George Washington in 11th place, may slide to 13th. Why? Because of the stupid tiebreaker about 60% of median games. When everyone is done the median would be 13.5 , with 60% of that being 8.1, so George Washington's 8 games wouldn't count, so would go by NET ranking, where they are between Saint Josephs and Fordham.
As for Dayton, with a win, they can jump Richmond or Saint Louis if they lose. With a Dayton loss, they may move up if Saint Louis loses. That's because they are both at .500 with losses. They would also tie Duquesne at .500. Now, Duquesne and Saint Louis didn't play, so I'm not sure if they will find a different way to decide the seed, but UD is 2-0 vs STL, and 1-1 vs Duq, so we'd be 3-1 versus group, with Duquesne at 1-1 and Saint Louis 0-2.
Just win baby! (And root for Massachusetts today!)

Should be the end of the season rankings:
Code:
1. Saint Bonaventure 11- 4 : 0-0
2. Virginia Commonwealth 10- 4 : 0-0
3. Davidson 7- 4 : 0-0
4. Saint Louis 6- 4 : 1-0
5. Massachusetts 6- 4 : 0-1
6. George Mason 8- 6 : 0-0
7. Dayton 9- 7 : 0-0
8. Richmond 6- 5 : 0-0
9. Duquesne 7- 7 : 0-0
10. Rhode Island 7-10 : 0-0
11. George Washington 3- 5 : 0-0
12. La Salle 6-11 : 0-0
13. Saint Josephs 3- 9 : 0-0
14. Fordham 2-11 : 0-0
So, 7/10 would be Dayton vs Rhode Island. Then winner would play VCU. Let's see how A10 ranks GW.
Edit: Bracket is up. GW stays at 11.

Wide open tourney. First question: Is VCU healthy? Assuming they are, I would say %'s something like this:
VCU 25%
Bonnies 20%
Saint Louis 20%
Davidson 15%
Dayton 15%
Field 5%

The thing that I like is that we will be playing good teams. We can beat good teams. The bad teams own us.

Think we got a great draw. Obviously, VCU is our big challenge. That’s not saying RI or basically anyone else can’t beat us. However, I’d rather be in bottom half of this bracket with VCU and Davidson, than the top with St L, St B, UMass and Richmond.

Figgie is right. 330p Thurs vs Rhody, winner advances to VCU on their home court. Shouldn't they at least have to play at Richmond? Jablonski doing bracket challenge on Twitter.

One thing to consider is that Bones Hyland has been out since February 20th with a foot sprain so if we are able to get past URI we might face a short handed VCU team.

I think we will beat anybody in the first round with our fresh legs. From that point on our weak bench better be contributing for the second opponent or we go down.

If we just didn't lose to the bottom 3 teams in the A10, we would have been the regular season champs in A10. Time to put it together and make up for underachieving during the regular season.

If you noticed AG played 9 guys significant minutes yesterday. I think he’s showing more confidence in the bench now. I’m not that concerned with minutes played.

I feel like we've been getting significant contributions from our bench the last few weeks. Seems like every game a new/different guy steps up with significant contributions.

Sounds like Bones will play in the tourney. They were giving him extra time to recover.
Vince Williams sprained an ankle last game, but will probably play.
Unlike Dayton, the Richmond paper has all kinds of detail on VCU players.

Great, so Grant, as well as the fans, will be able to prepare for the game. Just one extra player scouting report I have to prepare for my wife and kids so we get the entire experience.

Ya young pups doing all they can. UD needs it's leaders and it's A10 1st team player and supporting cast to take over.

St Joe's stays hot, defeating LaSalle in first round game. Nothing will be easy for our Flyers, but at least St Joe's isn't on our side of the bracket.

Maybe a shoutout to your friends and neighbors on the scouting reports...they might offer some valuable feedback!

URI (10-14) also will need to overcome a key loss in its starting lineup. Jeremy Sheppard (right ankle) will be unavailable against Dayton and could be doubtful for at least the early stages of the tournament.
