from what i read, they rebound well and block shots .
NOt a good shooting team, and they haven't played anyone of much note.

They've played two Ivy League teams in Princeton and Cornell, neither of whom is exactly known for their abiliity to crash the offensive glass, so some of those stats are kind of skewed.
Dayton really shouldn't have too much trouble with them. Their guard play is decent, and 3-1 isn't a bad start, but they're 3-1 against really really bad teams. Their loss was to Princeton, and that's Princeton's only win this year.

under 8 timoeout down 23-11. I don't think the team came home from FL. Lazy cuts, not boxing out, getting out-hustled, these are things that you have control of every night regardless of how you're shooting. Very disappointed in the way we've come out tonight.

Welcome to what the A10 will look like when teams pack in either in man or zone. There is the scouting report.

0-16 from the floor sounds like the Auburn game in Chicago a couple of years back
if I'm not mistaken, they were 0-25 from 3 that night

I'm assuming they aren't hitting the 3 ball. It's scary when you live and die by the 3. I guess tonight we're dying with the 3 so far.

What happened is the scouting report is the same. Pack a zone or man. Keep 5 on the defensive glass. Don't give up transition.

What's frustrating is we were starting to find the gaps in the zone. But when it happens, they either don't shoot when they should, make a bad pass, or miss the shot.

Can't even express how disappointing this performance is. The first few minutes of the 2nd half are very important. If we allow them to extend the lead any further I don't think the pace of this game allows us to come back.

It's a work in progress. This is my worst fear of what the year could have looked like. For the most part prior to today was better than I would have thought. What is a little scary is Miami and Buffalo play defense like A10 teams. It is up to the jimmies and joes to make plays when the defense packs and they take away transition and cuts.

not much you can do when you cant hit the outside shot against the zone. imo, even though we looked awful, the zone offense still moved the ball more than under BG. cant hit a shot, any offense is going to look ugly.
other big key is to stop giving buffalo 2nd chances, but rebounding was going to be a concern this year. just didnt think it would come against buffalo

wow. turned this on at 30-11. Defense picked up a bit but our guys can't get out of their own way on offense right now. 16 points is not insurmountable and they can do it against this team but they really need to settle down on offense. I'm thinking i wouldn't want to be anywhere near Archie right now.

Buffalo is pretty much doing what they have done all year. Shooting, turnovers, fouls are what we should have expected. This game is all about what WE aren't doing.
We have let ourselves get too far behind, but really it's not unusual for a buy team to come in do a workmanlike number on us in the first half. My concern is we have let it get away from us too far. This game's not over though.
An improvement curve is never a straight line. I hope this isn't the one step backwards.
And kiefaber 455 for cripe's sake please take a valium.

Buffalo with nine second chance points and with 12 points in the paint compared with UD's 2. This is the 4th game in seven days, the team is tired.

I get starting 4 shooters against this zone, but I don't get why Benson got the nod over Kavs. We have zero chance of any offensive rebounds with Kavs out.

You can beat a zone other than swinging the ball side to side and shooting 3s. You get the ball inside it and do somethng with it I. The gaps. They get the ball short corner and under the top and look what to do. Too late.
The zone offense this game is every bit as bad as it was last year. It us still all shoot over the top or nothing

This is the type of game we knew could happen. We will live and die with our outside shooting. When we are hitting it pulls the D out and gives us some space inside. When we aren't hitting we are in serious trouble

The upcoming 30-5 run is now up to 6-0.

Whoever said put in Ralph and the walk-ons, I agree. At least see what Ralph does in some extended minutes on the court.

This is disgusting. So much for coming home with some momentum. Guess I'll help the wife and girls with the Christmas decorating. Not sure this performance is even worthy of a site check tomorrow.

They are at least forcing turnovers. If they can do that consistently, an incredible run is still (theoretically) possible.

As much fun as it was to watch the Old Spice Tournament, this is the polar opposite. Just a terrible effort.

This is the type of game that punches the fan right in the teeth. That kid on Buffalo is JJ Redicking the crap out of the 3. Can't miss.....
Time to start the bus and get outta the arena.

Good night folks. This is the first time I turned off a UD game before it was over in....I can't remember how long. The guys have given up, it's time for me to give up.
The good news is both Murray St. and Alabama will feel they can beat this UD team playing their own game, so I don't expect to see too much zone if any in those games.
Time for the guys to get their legs back under them and get back at it tomorrow.
We have a loooooong season ahead of us. We'll win some more we won't expect and definitely lose some we won't expect.

This is.... I don't even know what word to use to describe it... humiliating? embarassing? I'm at a loss for words.
Are we tired? Did we overlook them? What the heck is happening here?
I know we're going to have off nights, but we're at home. We should never play this "off" at home. We're letting another team come into our house and basically dessimate us. We need to protect our house!
Come on Flyers, get it in gear... It ain't over 'til it's over!

Buffalos punched us in the mouth in our house and we just let them beat us up. Now they are running lob plays...should have punched them back in the first half...since they are making a mockery of us now.

I think we are tired and not ready to play. I'm not sure it would have mattered. This is a well coached team which is strong inside. They have exploited every weakness that we have. Dillard is great but he is the only player we have who can penetrate the zone. These are the games that Sean Miller warned us about before the season started.
But, the effort wasn't there. I would make the team watch the entire game

Poor Ralph Hill must really be in the dog house--can't get in even though there's just 2 minutes left and down by 32

Only thing I can figure is that he's not putting forth the effort in practice.

Yikes! That was hard to watch. I thought we got good looks against the zone, but shots were not falling. the rebounding stats speak for themselves. Sometimes it's just not your night. this team is not as bad as they showed tonight. The fact that the next game is away is probably a good thing. The only plus to this is maybe this will make them come out with a chip on their shoulder for Bama.

gonna try to stay positive here. we need to give arch some rope here because this is a rebuilding process. let us not forget that. the team he was left with is 100% finesses team. i have said it since day one we will some games we shouldnt becaue we will shoot the lights out and we will lose some we shouldnt because the lid will be on the rim.
My biggest issue with tonight was that we looked totally flat and lacked effort. with the seniors on this team I was disappointed with the effort, lack of physicality and the porous rebounding. nd these are effort measures and we hade zero tonight. also the old BG offense against a zone showed up tonight. these guys looked like they had never seen and extended zone. well get used to it fellas because the blueprint is out. we hardly penetrated the zone and we rarely entered it to the foul line and when we did we werent ready to score we looked right back outside. i still cant believe we took this kind of beating on the home court against Buffalo!!!
Oh well probably the ugliest game I have ever seen in the Arena what a shame hopefully this serves as a big kick you know wheere to the gents as they got embarrased on their hole floor. We'll see. Also a great test for arch!!! the honeymoon from Florida has now been erased

Many on this board wonder why this program just can't seem to gain momentum and get over the hump. Look no further than tonight. As long as we have a team that is capable of a game like this, it will continue to be an uphill battle. Even in a transition year, this should NEVER happen.

My thoughts, exactly. The lack of hustle and effort was something I don't remember seeing from a UD team playing at home. Bucky or Larry said this game was the worst home game loss ever.
Comments from Larry and Bucky:
Larry: "You don't let someone come into your house and blow you out".
Bucky: "Players are fatigued and have no emotion". "You've got to hustle". "Not throwing good passes, not catching passes".

per Larry Hangsen.

how come their legs are not tired?

My greatest fear
came true tonight.
BU played a 2-2-1 zone
kept pressure on the perimeter
we threw it inside but BU big men easily handled
Kav and Josh so no one had to sag off the perimeter
to double down so there were no non-contested shots available
to the Flyers.....and it cost us big.
Folks, without a presence inside it will be a long season,
hopefully we finish .500

Well.... A team that reverted back to what they knew (last year) and this is what happens. Coach Miller has some more teaching to do.

After the game I predicted before the night was through someone would find a way to blame BG for this loss. You have three choices to blame for tonight - AM and staff, the players, a combination of the two - We may have won if they reverted to last year and played some defense

Well you knew that was coming. Archie is the greatest 3 days ago now it's BG's fault we lost because his players suck. Gotta love it huh?
