Findlay 80 Wright State 76
Will UD be able to handle the team that beat the NCAA-bound Wright State Raiders in an exhibition game? We'll find out soon.

I posted about this in the game thread. WSU was destroyed on the glass by Findlay. And according to what I have heard this is a decently athletic WSU team. Findlay lead most of the game and the only reason WSU was able to stay in it and keep it close at the end was missed FT's by Findlay. The game really was not as close as the score.

UD by double digits. Kollars can write about it.

Im sure Findlay will be a nice test for the Flyers...more times than not they're a very good basketball team.

I think Findlay beat OSU several years ago. I think they took Xavier to OT maybe a few years ago also.

Just a reminder that this is the preseason & games don't count til next week. Also, I'd rather be playing our best ball in March than now.
Anyone remember when MSU was taken down in an exhibition & went on to the Sweet 16 later that season? I tend not to get too excited by preseason performances by us or the teams that play our preseason opponents.

Just No Fun At All
Viper... This is the proxy UD-Wright State game at home at the UD arena. Wear your red and blue and no green and yellow is permitted. I think UD can beat Findlay even with their best big man on the bench in street clothes.

I'm going to resist the temptation to gloat too much because the Oilers have always played us tough. Then too, WSU is without it's only real big man in Tavares Sledge, who may miss the entire season.
It'll be interesting to see Findlay on the Arena floor tonight.

WSU has a bunch of injuries and lacks healthy - or eligible - bodies at the moment. Donlon is doing triage as much as coaching. I wouldnt read too much into this score, other than we already know both teams are pretty good at full strength.

We played them last year. Does anyone remember the score?

Curious as to the many injuries they have. 11 players had minutes in the box score. I know they lost one key player, but not aware of the many injuries.

WSU has several players operating with injuries that are nagging or persistent.

OK. I don't follow them close enough to know their bumps, bruises, sprains, etc. Thanks.

Findlay is a good team. They gave UD all they could handle tonight.

Totally agree. They always do. I think that UD has always found a way to win (except maybe once). I think WSU is 0-3 against them. None of it really means much.
I hate the WSU debate and any threads related to them, but since we have them on this board I'll jump in.

On top of Sledge being ineligible due to legal matters:
1) Jerran Young played only a few minutes and was pretty ineffective due to a nagging injury
2) Kendall Griffin was out with a concussion
3) Miles Dixon has a torn labrum and is questionable for the season
4) Cole Darling went out with what appeared to be a fairly serious lower body injury.
I wouldn't look much into that score but at the same time WSU is going to be a shadow of what they could be this year.
