Top 16 seeds were just announced!?! Already?
The NCAA selection committee has already announced the top 16 seeds. Did I miss something? Why do this so early? I am super confused.

This is just a sneak preview. Will be different when the real ones come out.
Jerry Palm mentioned that Northwestern biggest issue is that their biggest win is against Dayton and Dayton is the bottom of the bracket team. Ahhhhh!

I watched a little bit. I think the NCAA only did the first 16 seeds. After that the analysts projected the rest of the field if it was today. I missed where they put Dayton, but I did hear the comment about NW. IIRC he said NW best win right now is Dayton, if at selection time that's still their best win, then they have a problem because Dayton is in the bottom half of the bracket.

Move along. Nothing to see here. This is just pointless at this juncture.

Palm needs to spend less time tweeting about politics and concentrate on CBB. Many of these guys are like this. Northwestern is a good team and saying that their resume could be in trouble because their best win is against a "bottom of the bracket" Dayton is asinine.
Im a big fan of Kellogg,Lunardi,Raftery,Nantz, etc. Guys that stay in their lane and keep it to sports. Palm's expertise is as ridiculous as his hair

my impression of Palm that, whenever hemakes an argument/statement, itis to prop up his metrics, methodology and name more than anything. he is in business and always trying to promote it. not saying he doens't know anything, but I feel there should always be some skepticism used when looking at what he says.

Palm must be mathematically challenged. He has us as an 8 seed and said we were "bottom half of bracket". Seems an 8 seed would be top half of bracket.

Not to mention, NW beat us on a neutral court. Correct me if I'm wrong but RPI-wise that is counted as an away game yes?
If so that is a road win vs a top 25 RPI team, which beats our best road win by about 20 RPI points.

Jerry Palm can find something wrong with anything. It's not that he's badmouthing Dayton or Northwestern for any specific reason. It's just that when he looks at something (ANYTHING) analytically the first thing he's going to say is something negative. He works for CBS. He doesn't need to do a whole lot of self promoting. The reason he said something negative about Northwestern is because they asked him about Northwestern. Had they asked him about Kentucky, he would have said that they're in a tailspin and have losses to teams outside the bracket and lack quality wins. That's just the way he is. I understand why people take it personally, but it's not personal. To be honest I don't even think he realizes it.

I heard on CBS today, during the bracket show, something to the effect of Jerry Palm having correctly picked 99% of the field over the last 4 years. I had no idea he was that accurate.

They all say they are 98-99% correct because they change their picks up to the last game played. It's not that hard to get 99% field chosen. Now if he was 99% correct on seed is give him credit

Predicting who will get in really isn't that hard. Hell, 32 of them are automatic qualifiers. Accurately predicting the seed lines and the cities that they play in is something else.

As they meet Friday to discuss their top 16 seeds to date, I can only assume that their conversation expanded to the field at large, what they were seeing to date from 'down the line' what teams/conference perhaps needed an additional eyeball or two focus. I'd also assume that while these discussions were taking place, they had the UD @ Rhody game up on one of their big screens as those are definitely two teams worth watching for the bubble. I'd love to know what kind of discussions came up regarding those two programs as the game unfolded; it seems like the game was a good representation of not only UD, but of Rhody as well. It probably doesn't hurt that Josh made his return and reminds them that a all of UD's losses came w/o his services and a couple of them came w/o Pollard either.
The reveal of their top 16 isn't a big story, the story is what wasn't revealed.
