Trey Landers will miss Saturday's game vs. VCU, Dayton announces.
Hurt in Practice this week... “is wearing a brace to support the joint and receiving treatment for the injury. He will be evaluated on an ongoing basis. His return date to basketball is yet to be determined.”

If he’s wearing a brace, I have to believe it could be a separation. How long does it take someone his age to recover from a shoulder separation?

For what’s it’s worth, my wife talked to Trey at the Centerville/Wayne game tonight. He said that the injury is not as bad as they thought and should only miss a few games. Elks are up 40-20 at the half!

Trey obviously was attempting to complete one of Rollo's workouts. Or, maybe he just saw the King from across the street, and his shoulder gave out.

If it’s a Grade I he should be fine in a week or two. Likely won’t fully recover until offseason but he’ll be able to play through it.

Unfortunately, at this point, these next 3 games may be the biggest 3 games of the season.

While the next 3 are big, the A10 tourney is what it’s all about. He should be good to go by then.

We need that double bye in the A10 tourney. The next 3 games will be big for getting one. Need wins against VCU and SLU for tie breaking. Same with Davidson but at this point i will concede them at least a top 4 spot.

You cannot underestimate the potential impact of Landers being out; but I have a good feeling that FRANKIE will have a big game or two as a result. Assuming the staff chooses to play him more over other options. I would like to see FRANKIE get a few legitimate three point shot opportunities. He has a solid stroke, just needs some playing time and confidence.
Mikesell will have to play 3 or 4 positions during Trey's absence. He's capable!

Frankie will get some minutes but think you'll see more small ball with Cohill getting a bulk of the expanded minutes. This is especially true against VCU and Davidson.

We will miss Landers a bunch against VCU and St L, as they are very physical, and Frankie is not. We have any foul trouble and we are screwed. It will cause our game plan to be less defense and non-agressive rebounding.

Agreed, especially against SLU. We could really use his combination of strength and agility on offense against Foreman, French, and Bess. Frankie could get eaten alive against the first two, and burned like Cajun toast against Bess. Time for Frankie to show us what he’s got.

I was thinking the same thing.
Then I was thinking about his streak. He has missed 12 straight 3 point shots. Since the 2005-06 season, that's tied for the 6th longest streak.
This isn't even the longest missed 3 point streak for THIS YEAR. Mikesell missed 14 in a row between Auburn and Georgia Southern. Jordan Davis missed 12 in a row as well, between Coppin State and Virginia.
The 2 longest streaks span seasons at 18 and 17 missed 3 pointers. The 3rd longest streak was 16 in a row in 1 season.
2 of the top 3 I could easily see having long streaks, as I've stated I didn't want them to shoot the three. Kyle Davis was 17 in a row and Devin Oliver was 16 in a row.
So, the question is, what Dayton Flyer men's basketball player missed 18 three point shots in a row, which spanned 2 seasons?

We can replace Trey's offense, but we need Frankie to contest hard for Trey's 7 rebounds per game, while not become a fouling machine so he can stay in the game.

The answers is Marcus Johnson. He missed 18 in a row from the end of the 2008-09 season through the beginning of 2009-10.
