"I think winning the outdoor title this Spring is a very long shot."
I agree that it's something of a pipe dream,
Charlotte's sprinters continue to outclass us every year at conference. Nevertheless, you can't argue with the amount of points we've gained on them in the last three meets. I'm just saying that it's possible, whereas in years past... definitely not.
Where we're at right now is that our throwers and field performers are head and shoulders the best in the A-10. We have good runners, but just not as many good runners as Charlotte. I think with a couple more sprinters scoring points (hopefully next year's recruiting class has a couple more impact freshman) we can definitely overtake them next season.
And yes, Adam has done a tremendous job recognizing talent and putting each of the girls in positions where they can be successful. It's definitely his strong suit as a coach, from what I can tell. Also, don't forget to give credit to Ann Alyanak for doing a tremendous job with the distance team and Vaughn Davis/Tom Cope for their help with the field performers and hurdlers.
I think ex-Coach Erwin deserves some props too for really getting the ball rolling on the program. The girls all loved her and were sad to see her go.
