Khari Price sighting for Southern Miss
Jordan Majewski (@jorcubsdan) tweeted tonight that Khari Price has finally completed his rehab from offseason knee surgery (and we thought we waited a long time for Kendall).
Khari Price finally back for USM and basically has all their points
8:15 PM - 5 Jan 2017
Later:
USM offense has looked competent with Khari Price back.
Southern Miss had only beaten Alabama A&M ( number 351 out of 351 teams, according to Sagarin) in Division 1 games this year, but beat Texas - San Antonio by double digits with Khari back

Good Lord, Conference USA has 4 of the worst 11 teams in the RPI.
I remember when they were a solid top 10 RPI conference. That's just sad.

Never ever ever ever ever will i forget his contributions in that awesome 2013-2014 run. He may go to S. Miss, but you'll never convince me he's anything but a Flyer.

My first thought when I saw this was, "Khari Price? That was so long ago, he has to be thirty by now!"
My second thought was, "That guy was an unselfish and underrated Flyer. I would have loved to see him graduate here."

Pretty unusual thar a player could go to another school and still receive a standing ovation if he returned. It has to make khari feel good to know how much his playing in a lot of pain is appreciated

I loved Khari.
Khari was one of several players that made me think, "How the heck did Ostrom and Miller find this kid?". Freakin' Slidell, Lahweezyanna.!!
Smart, steady, savvy player.

He's probably the transfer I hated to see go the most. Ever.

Now that we see how great Scoochie has turned out, you see why Price looked elsewhere. If I remember correctly, Price's transfer primarily involved a woman. Wonder how that worked out?

If I remember correctly, I think it was a homesick thing and wanted to be closer to home. Seemed like a good kid.

Did you see the stands at that game? Looked like there was about 20 people at the game.

Khari played on very bad knees his sophomore year, everyone that mattered knew he would require surgery during the off season and would likely have to sit the following year. I heard Archie talk at length about what Khari went through before and after practices and games to be able to play. Archie loved him.
He was always a little homesick, but loved UD too. I was a little surprised he didn't transfer to be near home after his first season, but thank God he didn't. He wasn't afraid of losing time to Scoochie (probably welcome it with his chronic physical condition). Sitting out a year so far from home was just too much. Scoochie nor a girlfriend had anything to do with his transfer.

I started a topic after the elite eight season and prior to any idea he was transferring that stated there might be conflict in the future with Scoochie taking over his role as starter. I got hammered for it. It's not a normal situation where a contributing starter, to an elite eight team especially, gets demoted but the writing was on the wall.
With his knee injury, it was the right decision for him and UD to move on. He was a very good ball handler, a great FT shooter and a good 3 point shooter on the rare occasions that he took one. But he didn't put up PG numbers when it came to assists. He was a filler until Scooch was ready to handle the load.
I will always consider him a Flyer and always have soft spot in my heart for him, but he wouldn't have fit with with this team unless he was willing to accept the role he had his freshman season, which was about the same as Crosby in his freshman season. I don't blame him for not accepting it.

I didnt see the need to create a new thread about this but this is a similar story of a former flyer in a new home. Kevin Dillard has been signed to join a New Zealand team in an Australian basketball league.

You know, adding Kevin Dillard to a topic on Khari Price got me thinking just how lucky we were to have Dillard graduate and Price take over for the one season. I really think if Dillard would've been around for 2013-2014, we would never have become "True Team" and not had the success that has turned around our program. Dillard was all about Dillard his senior season and if he had been around any longer, we would never have had the chemistry that was formed with Sibert, Pierre, Vee, DMO, Kavs and Price.
I realize that there was never a possibility of the above happening, but thought to myself that Dillard was a much better player than Price yet Price gave us more success than Dillard could've.

I loved Khari Price, despite all of his knee problems. He was so far from home...just don't think he could adjust to that.

Archie asked Dillard to do quite a bit. Sometimes more than Archie would have liked but out of necessity. KD served his purpose. Many a night we would have been SOL without his play.

I loved the way Dillard played in his first year here. But it honestly seemed he wanted every bit of glory his senior season. He was no longer that great dribbling PG looking for an open man, it seemed he didn't trust his teammates and/or he was now considered the veteran who had past issues and was now going to do things his way. Once CJ left, he seemed to take it as he could do anything he wanted. Obviously just my opinion.
I think Dillard's first year here is one of the greatest point guard play we've ever had. He abandoned that his 2nd season.

There were more issues on that 12-13 team than anyone outside of the circles would have known. You had a mix of good ball players with good character and conduct...and you had others that were detrimental to the team and were terrors off the court. There were 5 of them that were on their own program...the others were the glue.
