Creighton ranked #24 by CollegeHoops.net
That means Creighton is the 2nd highest rated team we will play this season, according to CollegeHoops.net. They say that P'allen is the best player in the MVC. Hopefully we can sneak into Nebraska and comeout with a Win. If I had to predict a score I would say,
Dayton-72
Creighton-70

It'll be tough, seeing as how it's 5 on 8 out there. I fancy myself as someone who watches a lot of college hoops, and I've never seen such consistent homer officiating as you see in Homerha. The game we played out there barely registers in the top 5 homer jobs I've watched in the Qwest Arena. Worse than at Duke.
That said, Creighton is good regardless of the officials. I really like that program.

Very tough place to win....most teams get homered right out of that place...even X fans would agree with me on this.

I wouldn't look forward to a close game there. Get out to a 10 point lead and fight like crazy to keep it with the bad calls.

This makes that Marquette on a nuetral court game so much more important.
We all know this team struggles on the road ... they gotta prove it to me before I can just say they will walk into #24 Creighton and win.
Either way ... we need Marquette or Creighton .... one of them has to be done, at a minimum.

It'd be nice to get a win.
But we're playing in Homer-ha, so prepare to get sucker punched. Playing eight against five is a sure way to lose.

I wouldn't count on a win in Homer-ha, Nebraska. This is one game that should never have been scheduled. P'allen will probably foul out our starting five while taking 35 foul shots.
After our last experience in Homer-ha, I would have never agreed to go back. I still have visions of those three officials high fiving each other after that game as they collected their money from the local bookie.
I've heard the stories of the Blackburn team that got homered in the NCAA tournament up in Chicago. I would guess our trip to Homer-ha would rank right up there with that game in terms of the worst examples of the fix being on.
It's been a few years now, and the thought of that game still really ****es me off. UD was totally robbed that night.

It was ONE game that happened with the Officials. I'm sure that if they were cheating EVERY GAME for Creighton then they would be fired, SORRY!

Xavier fans will tell you a similar story about their last road game in Omaha.

It is possible for the home team to get homered, it happened to the women's team last year against richmond. So who knows...

When Chris Wright and Marcus Johnson both have three before the half, stop and think about what you said.

All I know is that we had three guys foul out and two others with four, and Creighton had one guy foul out and had one with four. They shot 36 freebies; we shot 15. And Nate Funk played 45 minutes and did not commit one single foul - not one! Oh, and every time Funk moved they called a foul on us. He shot 18 freebies - more than our entire team.

LOL, maybe the refs were mad at UD because they refused to pay to keep the game honest. In that women's game UD players were called for fouls when the Richmond women jumped on them from behind, but when the Dayton players tried to stand up with someone on their back they were called for fouls. For some reason the refs didn't want to notice that Richmond was hitting the dayton players in the head, even knocked down one player with an elbow right in front of the ref.
I know it won't be easy but maybe someone will forget to make their ref contibution

And despite all of that, we still took them to double OT. I think we clip them this year.

With all due respect to their homecourt and Dana Altman's coaching, this ranking seems way optimistic. The Bluejays lost their leading rebounder/second leading scorer (Dane Watts) and another starter (Nick Bahe). Each of them started every game last year for a 22-11 team that lost to Flyer NIT victim Illinois State twice (by 13 at home, 14 away). They added 2 freshmen guards, neither expected to play much.

I must say it is interesting to see how fans from other teams are reacting. A couple of quick facts for those who are clueless about Creighton Basketball this season. First off Dane Watts may be gone, but that is it as far as production last season. The loss of Nick Bahe and Pierce Hibma may be felt from a leadership standpoint, but as far as contributor those two were not counted on offensively. As far as this seasons team 80% of the scoring, well over 80% of the Steals and Assists are back. As far as rebounding that may be the only question mark, but as it looks now Lawson will be just as good if not better than Dane Watts was. So Creighton has the MVC Freshman of the year back, Newcomer of the year back, Sixth Man of the year back, More athleticism and a newcomer who may be one of the best JUCO guards in the country. This Creighton team may be one of the best in the school's history. This team will be stacked both offensively and defensively. The depth may be unmatched by any Mid Major in D1.
As far as those complaining about the loss in Omaha and how the officials "Screwed" Dayton, welcome to the world Creighton lives in. CU has been screwed many many times by the officials that it all works itself out in the end. A win is a win and a loss no matter how close is still a loss. The game this season will be an awsome game that will be in front of 17,000 screaming CU fans. I have great respect for Dayton and think this will be one of the better early season games for Creighton. For any Dayton fans who make the game come up and say hello to my son and I while you visit the Qwest Center. Sec 20 Row L seats 1&2. I look forward to seeing whoever can make it to the game. Sean

By whom? Dayton? Do not think so. CU is much better than last season and the experience the players have is more than when Funk beat your Flyers. It will be a good game. Hope all of you come and watch. Go Jays!

Why do trolls come to our board so much? I mean after UD beats them we can't say nothing back because they will already be crunched up in a deep black hole.
If UD goes into Omaha and wins then I will say this team can win in ANY A-10 Building.

Since when is a fan of another team posting anything positive about their team trolling? Some people are way too sensitive, I enjoy discussing with fans from other teams. I just don't like it when it degenerates into stupid arguments that makes everybody look ignorant.

UD FAN ... you probably said that too when UD beat #11 Louisville at Freedom Hall last year. Beating a Non-Conf. opponent on the road has nothing to do with playing a team in our conference on the road. Teams in the conference know your tendencies, scout the hell out of you and know how many hairs CW has on his face.
And as far as trolling? The guy is not trolling at all. He may have a little bit of a bias opinion on this years' CU team ... but he was not hostile, told us what he could about the team and said he respects our fans and school. It is not like some _ guy coming in and being an ass.
Sean ... I don't think this is the best team CU has in the school's history ... I think it is a solid team, with the MVC down a little this season there is no way you cannot win the conference.
But I will say this, you guys do get more homer calls than any team we have played on the road. I am not saying you don't get screwed on the road, but take off your blue and white glasses ... Homerha is a real word, its in the dictionary.
