TV for the UMass game
ESPN+ requires a fee. Anyone know if the A-10 network is televising the game or any other station airing the game? CBS Sports Network (channel 1322 on Spectrum) has been televising the Flyers games lately but they have St. Louis at VCU at 7:00PM Tuesday night.

On the Massachusetts game thread FlyerFerd stated that per the UMass website NESNPlus is televising the game so anyone who has DIRECTV is in luck.
Anyone know of any Sports Bars that have DIRECTV?

There is no A10 network. They partnered with ESPN+ for all games not picked up by sports networks. Quality is much improved, professional equipment and anniuncers. For 4.95 month get all sports from all schools, an best yet if you miss a game go to recent games it's archived.
For UD that's men's women's basketball, soccer, vball, softball and baseball. No football.

I have the sports package with DirecTV that allows me to get CBS Sports... Anyone know if NESN plus is included in that?

628 looks like the DIRECTV channel number . I would imagine your BDubs of the world could have it. Roosters, winking lizard, and Fricker‘s May be possibilities. I typically just call the bar ask them to see if they get channel 628, and then we find out pretty quickly. I would avoid local places as this channel is probably on the extremely robust sports package.

I don't think the sports package alone gets it. You may have to get the regional sports package as well, which I have. Also got espn+ so I'm good either way if I get home from work in time to watch.

For all of you that don't have ESPN plus...
I haven't had cable all season and the reddit ncaa basketball streams thread has allowed me to watch every game this year. The thread will post links to the game about an hour before the game so you can watch it. They're junk websites but as long as you close all the ads you should be good to watch. Highly suggest choosing the HD threads with minimal Ad Overlays...

ESPN+ costs $5 per month. There is typically at least 1 game usually 2 Flyer games on per month. You also can see a bunch of other games. I prefer this to going to a sports bar and watching the game without sound and paying extra for beers. I'm also not crazy about clicking on random links and dealing with the fallout. I have 1 Roku tv that has the ESPN app on it so I watch random games on it. For Flyer games, I hook my laptop up to my bigger screen tv.

ESPN+ has been well worth the 5 bucks a month. I mean those reddit streams are ok, but not nearly as reliable. I can watch games on ESPN+ on my 65" tv and its the same quality as a direct broadcast without the nonsense.
You can even get a 1 month free trial. I'll probably cancel after the season and start it back up for next season.

It is definitely on NESN+. I am going to the game but will be DVR'ing it to watch later, but I live in New England so it is part of my Verizon Fios package by default.

Even without UD games I'd still have ESPN+. I've watched a ton of other college basketball and already a few Gamecock baseball games.
Well worth the $5/mo. as others have mentioned, especially if you have a smart TV that can get the ESPN app (then you can cleanly stream literally everything on any ESPN channel).

With all the "one off" sports channels already out there (CBSSN, NBCSN, Spectrum Sports, etc) and included in premium cable packages, there's no such thing as another ESPN rip-off $5/month being "WORTH IT."

Do you realize how many college basketball games there are? It's literally impossible to carry them all or even if they could it wouldn't make financial sense.
The fact that I can watch every flyer basketball game in good quality while being out of market is amazing. 15 years ago I'd be lucky to see 1 or 2 a year.

Second this whole heartedly! UD is a regional university with 6800 undergrads (when I went there). The fact that I have seen every single basketball game home and away for the last 5 year is amazing in my mind. ESPN+ is cheaper than the A10 network was, plus you get access to ESPN Insider, you get the magazine which I don't read but that's my choice.
End of the day, nobody is forcing anyone to do anything, if you want to put your foot down in protest to getting nickled and dimed by ESPN you are free to read the box scores in the paper the next morning or listen to the radio.
Does anyone remember before there was ESPN and a lot of major professional sporting events weren't even broadcast live? I don't like everything ESPN does, and I wish they would stick strictly to sports, but things have come a long way.

I, too, am more than willing to pay $4.99/mo. for ESPN+. However, one problem I continue to have is the fact that my picture (on m,y computer screen freezes frequently during the game and I have to refresh the picture to get back to live action. It also seems to happen coming out of commercial breaks. Anyone have an idea what the problem is?

I have had no problem. What is your internet speed. We got a new smart TV for Christmas and my "technical advisors" , meaning my sons, advised that I increase my internet speed, which I did, and have no problem.

The only thing I haven’t enjoyed about ESPN plus is the dramatic difference in volume between the game and commercials. I realize that commercials are typically louder, but my goodness, it’s probably about a 40 dB difference.

I'm watching Directv 628 now and the guide shows the game on 628.1. I don't know what our package is though.
And I agree completely that ESPN+ is worth $4.95.

And they archive the games. Can't watch it live, play it later on replay.
No problems here on screen freezing.
Also here in St Louis we remarked how the commercials are actually lower in dB than the game. Very unusual. Also get both Dayton and St Louis commercials.
Also know that if I need an attorney in dayton to call the moose brothers.

Shwag33: I am coming to your house to watch the game on that 65” TV. I will be bringing beverages and a pizza from one of the Dayton’s favorite pizza places mentioned on this blog. I concur with your thought about going to a sports bar and watching the game with no sound. No sound irritates me to no end; especially after a few beverages. What was your street address, again?

I just downloaded the ESPN app to my new Sony 75" TV!!!! I am ready tp roll. Now if they just had Marions Pizza in Scottsdale.
Who says old guys can't do stuff. Getting my hair cut yesterday at a new barber shop. The 20 something barber comments that the hair that I have left on the side of my head is pretty thick. His exact quote was. "Old guys seem to have thick hair." I went to my kidney doctor a month ago and he asked me if I had stopped using Grecian Formula. Just what I need, people other than my mirror telling me I am old.

Nice, the only sugggestion I have is make sure its the ESPN+ app. I think if the TVs are too old they dont support the one that has ESPN+ access. If you have xbox or any kind of media center it will for have the correct app.
To the people have troubles with the app. I've found that running on my computer it can stutter. I think it's more a problem with the laptop hardware. I run mine on xbox one and it's seamless.

The games on ESPN+ always start on time, unlike some of the other stations that may have a game on before ours. They also seemed to have straightened out the volume problem.

Best investment I've made in awhile. Cheap and good content. I've caught 5-6 Flyer games on it that I'd have missed in prior years.

Announcers were okay but the camera work felt like cable access broadcasting a high school game. NESN should be embarrassed.

A pizza thread for AZ? Now that's what I'm talking about! We get transplants and snowbirds from everywhere so it leads to some nice diversity including with pizza. For instance, NYPD Pizza or Streets of New York for NY-style pizza fans. There have also been a number of Chicago joints opening up locations here recently such as Lou Malnati's and Giordano's. But if you dig the authentic stuffed Chicago-style pizza (not just deep dish but stuffed), for my money nobody does it better in Phoenix than Oregano's.
Now back to your regularly scheduled program... which may or may not be on TV.
