2018 Roster

So, this is what our roster will look like at the moment
PG - Crutcher
G - J Davis, D Cohill
G/F - Matos, Mikesell, Landers, Watson (transfer sit)
F - Toppin, Pollicelli, Cunningham

Holes appear at PG and C (or beefy F who can play opposing center)

Grant appears to be selecting athletic players who can play anywhere on the floor, hence I suspect the lack of C.

That gives us, assuming everyone is healthy and qualified, nine to play games and ten to practice with. We have made it to the minimum. Another PG and a big would be next.

We need a defense after what was worst Flyer D in at least 20 years. Preferably an enforcer in the middle. We could get 10 point guards and we won't improve until we figure out how to stop somebody. We were ridculous often letting opponents score almost at will, sometimes 7-10 consecutive baskets! We score well enough.

have to agree here. Worst Defense i've seen from UD in the last 15 years.

Agree that the D is terrible and needs to improve big time. Disagree that we need "an enforcer in the middle" this isn't 1984. That just isn't the way the game is played anymore. What we need are fundamentally sound perimeter defenders who can keep guys out of the lane. Dribble penetration causes defense to break down which leads to easy baskets, bad fouls and open three pointers. You still have to do everything else, (move your feet, close out on shooters, deal with ball screens appropriately, etc...), but if you can't keep their guards out of the lane, you better shoot 60% from the field.

I agree you don't enforcer in the lane but no perimeter defense is going to keep guys out of the lane enough or stop entry/lob passes to post players enough to get away with playing someone out of position

Are you proposing we skip PG and go into this season with 1?
