They haven't even shot it well in the 2nd half. We have had so many chances it's ridiculous.
Down 12 with some time left, it's ridiculous we are still in this game.

Creighton is wilting from the pressure. Do we have enough time and fire power to close the gap?

Frankly, until we can prove ourselves to be a good shooting team -- we are somewhat of a fraud.
We might try passing to somebody when we drive.

We are still in this amazingly. Down twelve and 7 minutes left. Single digits at 6 minutes and we still have a shot.

Santa, All I want as a Flyer fan, is a shooter. No, not one of "our" typical "shooters".
A real bonafide SHOOTER. A harlem globe trotter, behind the back, blind folded SHOOTER! Every year, I hear how we have a "real" shooter coming in. Each year I watch 2 or 3 or 5 games where the other team has a career night against us. While we impress with 60% free throw shooting and 0 for a zillion 3 point shooting. Please Santa. Help.

Beyond the terrible substitution rotation, beyond the bad offensive designs, the terrible FT shooting, the lack of a true shooter, the allowing of offensive rebounds, and the playing time of Kurt "Blackhole" Huelsman for no reason...
I'd say this is a sweet 16 team. Ha.

i dont know if i would say we are a fraud, but we are not a top 25 type team by any stretch. think about how many games this year our offense has been horrible. good teams can play well on both sides of the court.

No shooters
Has anyone else noticed that the Jays seem to have a ton of shooters, while the Flyers have none...? LOL....
I thought we might have had a chance when we were only down 12, but once again we fall apart....

I see why X won't play Creighton anymore. After that block on Lowery, it's getting ridiculous. Huelsman has 4 bullsh!t fouls called on him.

Before this game, I can't say I was really convinced we are a top 25 team. Sure we beat Marquette, but when we play outside of UD arena, we are nowhere near the same team. If we could play every game at home, we'd be a top 25 team easy. Need to learn how to play on the road. You'd think BG would have figured something out in 6 years...

I'm shocked that they are killing us on the boards. But still the difference in this game is our threes vs their threes.

Why do we play man out of bounds? There is a thing called zone when the team has it under their basket.

Altman is a great coach. You can really see it in their halfcourt sets. The guy really knows what hes doing.
We were never in this one however. We were down 10pts early and never made a run. Just couldnt shoot. Sooner or later we knew the inability to make open shots would bite us and this was that game. Will probably happen some more unless we stop shooting knuckleballs.
I liked many of the looks we got, but the question remains, did we get the good looks from good sets or did Creighton dare a bad perimeter shooting team to make shots.

Hartsock is terrible. What is this? With 6 minutes left to go he is already giving the game to Creighton. Saying, after we make a free throw, "to little, too late."

Lot's of torn ACLs tonight with these knee-jerk reactions.
We got our butts kicked. It happens to virtually every team in the country at some point every season. It's inevitable. Some coaches, although they will never admit it, don't mind a single butt-kickin. Knock some sense into them and often times they get hungrier.
It also only counts as one loss.
Back to work. I expect great things the rest of the OOC schedule.

I have never seen a team miss so many open shots in my life. You'd think we're shooting with our eyes closed or something. Maybe we're missing all of these on purpose so we don't show too much for the A10 schedule. I bet BG is planning on making a sweet run in the A10 and saying a big fat, told you so about our shooting....riiiiiight

Our rebounding is terrible. You can be off in shooting the ball, but our lack of rebounding against this small team is a lack of hustle and effort!!!

The turning point in the first half was C23- D19 and MJ gets a rebound and with no one around dribbles on the end line. It set the tone for a lousy first half finish.

Is Luke the only freshman to see minutes in the 2nd half?

Bummer
Flyers just flat tonight.... Hard to understand why teams can have great nights and terrible nights.... Chalk this one up to terrible.... No way we should have been hammered like this tonight.... I hope we regroup and put this stinker behind us. We are better than this.... As was pointed out, where the heck are CW and MJ?
Hats off to the Jays. They looked great tonight.

Give the ball to CW. Never touches it. Should touch it every offense trip.

Top 25
Where does everyone think UD will be ranked when the polls come out? Think we'll finally crack the Top 25??

Awful game all around. You'd think BG would learn to prepare better. Not all on him though. Outplayed, out hustled, out coached. Can't help the fact that Creighton was lights out from 3. Chalk this one up to a lack of senior leadership...cough..cough...CL. I look for us to be a better road team next year when we have more leaders as seniors.

Defense and rebounding has been our bread and butter thus far this year, but tonight we just didn't get it done. Then couple that with our usual ineffectiveness in the half court and you get a butt whoopin.
Had we rebounded and challenged their shooters it would have been a different game.
If ifs and buts were candy and nuts...
Lets go home and start winning again.

Creighton played like they had to win this game. Dayton played this game like it was the first game in a hostile environment.
The stats are going to look ugly....real ugly.
Lowery and Perry played well.
We really need to get MJ going.

Bottom line tonight--Creighton just did everything we are trying to do this year, and did it better. It was their night.

BG can't make plays. I don't believe that the Flyers weren't prepared we simply didn't execute our defensive plan.
Chalk this up to losing to a better team.

bad games happen. I don"t know anything we did right tonight. We will have plenty to work on. I think we will get the rest of the OCC, other than George Mason, I am worried about.

Agree. Prepare yourself for the BG haters to make their voices heard until Saturday when they will have to go back into hiding for awhile.

Rob Lowery and Mickey Perry were outstanding tonight.
Keep your eye on Perry. He's quietly having a nice season thus far, and seems to get a little more assertive every game. I would not be surprised to see him have a major breakout game in the near future.
Lowery needs to find consistency, and continue pushing the JUCO out and the D-1 in. Hitting a few more jumpers would help a ton.

poor defense and rebounding, this team is not good enough to overcome that on ANY night. When they don't bring it they will lose.

How bout this starting lineup. Need control and direction, and good shot taking...
Thomas, CJ, CW, Marcus and KH. Chris plays the 4 position.
Perry replaces Marcus for some shooting.
then bring on London or wildman number 2 as second replacements running with Little, Marcus , chris and Devin.
gotta try some new stuff here.

yeah when you lose this badly and it being your first loss of the season, a lot of us are going to be saying a lot of jibberish that by Saturday wont even matter once we come back home and get the W. So lets just move on, take our 1 loss and take care of business Saturday. The season is not over because of one loss, look at Duke, UCLA, Notre Dame, all the big schools lose to and its not like we lost to Bethune-Cookman at home, a loss at Crieghton is not a horrible loss.

Oh no we lost to a team that was better than UD it every facet of the game tonight. Fire BG! Take away all the players scholarships! Start the walk ons, send a message.... Relax people, it was one game, our first true away game against a team picked to win the MVC. The key lesson to take away from tonight's game is we need to work on beating full court pressure and our rotation in guarding outside shooters. Nothing that a few home games against inferior competition can not correct. Please do not overreact after 1 loss!
P.S. we did not get "homered" by the referees, please don't use them as an excuse.

Kurt had 2 boards all night. is there any good reason for that, except they hit all their shots?
devin with 4. little with zippo in the scorecard.
looks like BG is trying to get Paul williams some minutes, but he 's still behind catching up. Perry a help and Lowery a help after he was off initially.
" We want Stephen Thomas, we want stephen Thomas!"
