on the bright side, our bench outscored there's 24-7. that certainly is something good to take away from a bad game with a positive result.

Outshot, outrebounded and outassisted, but hit 9 free throws more than them. What are we Richmond?
That is the formula: beat the bad teams by whatever and save the good games for the tough teams.

That was a huge shot. It really gave us some momentum going into the second half.

Syracuse beats Pitt on a 30 ft. three as the clock runs out. Sound familiar?

Flyer bigs get exploited by URI way too easily. The Rams set a lot of screens with their bigs out top with quick movement. Eventually whatever Flyer big (any of the four) gets out of position and is too slow to recover and the Rams attack for a good shot. Whenever URI was patient and didn't give it away they got a good shot.

There was some good defensive news in the turnover department: RI - 18, Dayton - 8
Nerves of steel at the line: Dayton 24-29 (82.8%)
Oh, yeah - the Flyers won 76-69.

I did like the foul by Oliver even though someone (DO) got beat and RI was about to go in for a slam, and Oliver fouled him hard and they had to go to the line for the points.

It's a good win, especially considering URI has had our number for way too long. However, while we played really well in spurts, there seemed to be too many lapses, especially on defense, to come away feeling comfortable that we're tournament ready. We still haven't figured out an answer to keeping opponents out of the paint for easy points and at times we still looked disorganized and flailing around on defense. Maybe I'm expecting too much here, but, IMHO, our kids still don't quite pass the "eye test". Hopefully a week's rest and some work on defensive deficiencies will get the kids ready for a tough stretch run.
