ON ESPN gametracker , they have our Red Logo and it looks awesome. No thought of VD in it, and the red color is GREAT.
Pleasure to see it. Haven't seen unis or live game yet but will soon. Glad it's working out.

I like the look of the new uniforms, BUT the red ones are NOT red.... They are orange! Had a couple of shots on TV yesterday where the Flyer faithful were in the background with the team in front... and the Flyer faithful were clad in RED... our team was in ORANGE! Obvious big difference!
They can call it whatever name they want, but it ain't RED!

I noticed the exact same thing and Mrs. B., noticed it as well. The uniform seems darker than our original "red" and does NOT match.

So my son comes down from his nap Saturday afternoon, around 3:30ish and watches the last 10 minutes or so of the UD game with me. I was at the Alabama A&M game, we were at an OSU party for the UIC game and the rest have been on the road so its the first time he's seen UD play at home this season. Perhaps he's heard talk of the logo at school, but as a Kindergartener, I have my doubts, my wife and I have barely talked about it, and only when it first came out. I do not currently own any apparel with the new logo with it so overall I think he's pretty unaware of any of the backlash of the new logo.
anyhoo, when he came downstairs and settled into the couch with me, it took him about 2 minutes of game time to look at me and ask "why do they have a flying "D" on their court"? Thought that was an interesting observation from someone who is going to be the UD's target audience for the next 10-12 years (and perhaps beyond)

Maybe if you explained that the logo was changed he would understand.

I did explain that, I just found it interesting that after all the nail biting and teeth gnashing, my son's first experience of viewing it on the court was seeing the new logo for exactly what I think they intended the logo to represent, a flying D.

Sorry for the abrupt response, thought your post was another in a long line of logo bashers, for which this site is famous. I was in error.

Deep pockets, no, but as a kid that is just beginning to form a fan identity (whichever team is currently winning a game is often times the team "we should be winning for" or we should root for the "eagles because we've seen an eagle before) they are long lasting bonds that will carry him his lifetime (lord knows I've suffered enough as a Bengals fan). Heck he may even become a flyer some day, who knows. I'll venture a guess that the target audience of the logo change was more towards people in their teens and in position to start thinking about college choices than people in their 60s and contemplating where to leave their inheritance.
For the record, he never said if he liked it or disliked it, I didn't ask, he seemed rather indifferent, but I found the observation positively enlightening.

You are probably the only UD fan who watched the NBA All-Star game.
None the less, very very cool!
