That is a big team. We had better be hitting from the outside, stopping penetration and blocking out.

Jeff Goodman @GoodmanESPN 1m
George Washington will be without starting guard Joe McDonald (hip) tomorrow vs. Dayton, source told ESPN. Will be reevaluated next week.

BTW, Mcdonald is the guy that really makes them go. Averages 8 ppg, 4 reb, 4 assists, 2 steals and shoots 40% from the three point line. If the Flyers don't win this game I am not sure when they will win again.
Savage is out with a broken foot. Reminds of the Lday Flyers with the backcourt injuries.

Our bigs cannot catch the ball, and are not ready to catch it. Second layup would could have had.

GW makes entry passes to their bigs at will. I almost don't care if Steven scores at all in his career, just give us some freekin' defense.

Great passing and rotation on offense. We have to take some better shots in close.
You just saw why Gav does not play. Gets the ball and throws it to the corner for an automatic double team, then lets his guy push him so close to the basket he has to foul to stop him.

He could make a difference - hasn't had the chance yet. Here's hoping.

This GW team is seriously undermanned due to injuries. Dayton should win this game by 15+ points with the walkons playing the final minute.

Wow that ticks me off. Price and Robinson look at each other and neither goes for the ball. Just a lack of hustle big time.
Meantime on the plus side, 9-16 on 3's as Oliver and Sibert are lights out

This coaching staff needs to get some of those large football pads for shooting drills under the basket. Have a guy pushing them around as their shooting, for an entire practice.
Soft, soft, soft. No toughness whatsoever. Inexcusable for allowing this team to hang around.

You could see Archie go over to Sibert at the timeout and talk to him. I would think it was about taking 3's and not running clock. By the way Archie was not animated and seemed calm.

You could see on TV that Archie and the staff was not happy with that shot at all. That is on Jordan.
Archie looked much more subdued with his language compared to what I've seen most of the time. I'm sensing someone has talked to him about it.

Won the rebounds by 1, only 7 turnovers, 5 steals and 18 assists. And get this, 86% on free throws. Vee hit 7 o 8.

Where has that team been? They played hard defense and knocked down shots. Very nice to see.

Seems a lot of people here have 2 standards - if the other team is down a couple of players UD should easily win; if UD is down a couples of players, UD should still win or it's on the coach for not having recruited enough back-ups or adjusting for the missing production!

8-8?
Not long ago we looked at 8-8 as another failed season. Now, 8-8 and two wins in the A10 tournament might get us in the Dance.
With nine A10 games remaining, 8-8 would mean winning six of nine and seven of the last ten. The Committee focuses quite a bit on the last ten games.....and the A10 is a strong conference.
Likely? No. Possible? Definitely.
Go Flyers!

Com'on man really? You're up 8 or 9 with less than a minute. You're wide open in the corner with 25 seconds left on the shot clock AND you're right next to the bench with your coaches 6 feet away. What do you do? Shoot? What should the coaching staff (all of them) be screaming at this point when they see JS lining up ready to launch a rediculous 3?
Enough said. And unfortunately - I've seen this same level of decision making all year from this team; low BB IQ. And that's on the coaching staff, period.

A nice win, regardless of the circumstances. We kept the turnovers down much of the game as well, but then playing against second team guards you shouldn't have to deal with too much ball pressure.

This board is like a morgue now. Did everyone except me bet against the Flyers today?

I'll take the W!! Not sure we learned much about ourselves however with GW driving the backup car.

I'll take the W also. Bottom line is it COULD be a catalyst to get us going again. A loss would have been devastating. We came out strong to start the game and answered every GW run. As i said, I'll take it.

The Flyers winning today made me happy. And I am happy for the team and the coach. I got a double dose of happiness by flipping over a few stations during the game to watch X getting their a$$e$ handed to them by one of the worst teams in the NBE at cementas center with their fans sitting dumbstruck in the background of my big-screen.
But I'm less chatty because the A10 season so far has been a major downer up to this point. I hope we turn it around.

My exact post from last year...
"I will shave my head, streak across the Arena floor, donate half my savings to charity, reveal my true identity to UD Pride members, go to daily Mass for the rest of the basketball season, give up beer and smoking permanently, go shopping with my wife, donate a kidney, etc. if we win the next six games."
Gotta give the team some incentive!
