Bring on the Billikens
SLU not playing well today but at halftime still leading St. Bonaventure I think by 16. Their offense runs through Jackie Kempf so looking forward to seeing how much Kelley is on her. I think SGA can neutralize Stipanovich in the middle. Depending on any bench help, have to stay out of foul trouble.

Just can't take any game for granted. GW playing a mediocre GM team today and trailing by 11 at half rallied to win by 8 in ot. Yes the league is top heavy but getting bit by a "bad" loss can happen as we know with La Salle.

The young lady for St. Bonaventure, Ruff, who almost hit the game winner against UD went 0-11 from the field today. SLU doesn't beat themselves - only nine turnovers. They did shoot 28% from the field in the second half which was even.

Does anyone know if the girls are going to make the trek to SLU for the game. I am in Coopersburg, Pa finishing up a project and planned to head home to Louie but the weather reports are not good.
Talked with friends who said Missouri has called out the national guard and advised (as has Illinois) for everyone to stay off the roads except for emergencies. Expecting 3/4 inch of ice Friday through Sunday.
So guess i'll keep camped here in the Motorhome and chill.....or warm . Got a full RV, water, propane, power (gen) and house power, frig is full and diesel. Yep check, bring it on.

Dayton WBB tweeted @1/2 hour ago about Sundays game, so it appears they are making the trip. I think when weather is an issue they can get permission to travel early (or late) to an away game.

Best laid plans to be back in Louie for todays game against the billikins. Darn weather has me stranded in Spinnertown, Pa. Weather here is okay sorta but Interstae 70 all way back is treacherous at best.
Will watch in ESPN and root for the ladies to get the "W".
Go Flyers!
Nice local restaurant with lobster roll, Ostrich burgers, and alligator sausage as their specialties.....yummy!
I went with the yellowtail battered fish plate.

St Louis more scrappy for loose balls and too much standing around on offense waiting for Jenna to make a play.

End of qtr 1 - 15-7 SLU. SLU hits trey at buzzer. SGA 2 fouls in first 4 minutes. 6 turnovers! No rebounding. Getting out-muscled and out-hustled. Cvitkovic is virtually unplayable. Dennis not much better.

UD outscored 15-2 after a short lead. Everyone waiting for Jenna and not moving the ball to get open shots.
Could be a blowout if they don't get it together.

Refs are missing call after call. The St L girl hooked to get to the basket, a foul called every time, except today.

32-29 Flyers at the half. Terrible last 2 seconds. Gave up bunny on inbound play. Got back in it with some good 3 point shooting. Cannatelli with a couple treys. Scaife with a trey - she played well. Only one turnover that quarter. Have given up 11 offensive boards. SGA only played 4 minutes - no boards, no points, 2 fouls.
Keys to second half - SGA needs to get some minutes and not foul. Need to get on the boards. Need to take quality shots and not throw up junk. Not sure we can keep up the good 3 point shooting in the second half.

78-67 Flyers final. Great game by Scaife - 16 points on 6-9 from the field. SGA in foul trouble first half - gets 14 boards in only 18 minutes. She owned the glass on both ends in the last 5 minutes. Layfield with 13 boards - played the full 40. Burdette with 21 before fouling out in the last minute. Those 2 treys - in about 30 seconds - in the second quarter by Cannatelli got us a lead. Then Scaife and Burdette did the same in the middle of the 3rd quarter.
Thought we were fresher at the end. However, we go out-muscled for the first 3 quarters. Just too wimpy at times.
Great win. Enjoy the trip home ladies - you earned it. .

It seems only weeks ago that we were a train wreck and no recruit would be interested in ud. Very impressed with the job Shauna has done. Plenty of room for improvement but the improvement has been coming quickly.
Still need a couple of recruits at pg and center but the future is looking much brighter
And few fish are better than yellowtail except maybe ones you caught yourself that day!

Had to miss the game,as my wife insisted on the beach. Great win. As I said after the last win, they can win this thing. I change it to, they will win the A10.

Good result. I was not optimistic we had the discipline to go in there and get a W. Making shots always helps and we did that. Our treys were timely especially when our bigs were sitting most of the first half. Had more TOs than assists, but we outboarded Sloo and that made up for some of those TOs.
Still way too many TOs. Probably 2/3rds of them just lack of focus and nothing Sloo did to force them. We gave up a trey at the buzzer at the end of the first qtr and an inexcusable layup under the hoop on an inbounds play at the halftime buzzer. I thought those 5pts might cost us the game.
Lost lead in third qtr but kept Sloo from shooting a good percentage and we rebounded. Made FTs at the end. Still not a 40 minute game. Probably more like 25 minutes. But thats considerable progress when early in the year it was about 10 minutes.
The good news is this was anything but a perfect performance. Tons is small mental mistakes that probably gifted away 12-15 points over the course of the game. If we can start cleaning up these fine details, we're going to make the easy games easier and tossups go our way with room to spare.
We're up to #72 in the RPI, best in the league by 3 spots over GW. GW and Sloo both only have one league loss -- to us. Not NCAA at-large resume' and won't be considering how weak the A10 is this year, but if we can keep winning, we should put ourselves in a position to get a WNIT if we dont win the A10 Tournament. Obviously thats only for us to talk about. The team just needs to focus on winning the next game.

Say what you want about this team being soft, sloppy or whatever. They are winning and last time I checked, that is what really matters. No style points needed at this point. Unlikely they could into a position to get an at large berth because the league is as weak as it has ever been. Just finish well, get a bye and win the tournament. Simple as that. It certainly can be done. There are no outstanding teams in the league. Just win, baby.

We did better than USF, who has been (and still is) ranked and was defeated 103-37 on Jan 10 in Storrs.
They also defeated ranked DePaul 91-45.

The softest part of the schedule is here with home games against St. Joe and URI and the road games against Davidson, GM and VCU. Five wins can be had although we can't take anything for granted. For example, GW had to rally to beat GM in overtime. GW is in a funk - they didn't have Caira Washington yesterday - they led Davidson 29-10 but Davidson scored 19 in a row to tie it at half - Davidson opened a five point third quarter lead before GW won by 14 and this is a Davidson team that came in 2-14.
