Sandstorm by Darude Student ? When did that start?
Are they still doing that at UT games. I'm bringing in some friends from Chicago for a game and I've told them about the UD student section. I hope it still as rowdy as I remember. I hyped it up. I hope the crowd for Saint Bonaventure is crazy

First reference I can find regarding towel guy was this post from July 2008 where it references him. Based upon the wording it would seem that towel guy was active in the 2007-2008 season. Whether that was when he began or not I do not know. I was actually surprised that it had started that long ago.

Towel Guy hasn't been around for a long while. They still play Sandstorm when the players come out of the tunnel at half time, but usually nothing coming from the student section.
Secondly, though, Saint Bonaventure home game is on January 3rd, and Xmas break isn't over until 1/15, so the student section will not be completely full.

I think that 08 was his cameo when he posted up on a chair at mid court...he didn't have his usual Beast Light or Natty conditioning and he looked as if he was going to pass out. Good stuff.

Towel guy graduated in 2006. They had him do his stuff at center court that year during the Xavier game.

Hope the students are there in force so my buddies get a true view of the best student section and Pep band in America. Maybe even hit some of the old bars but I understand some of the old ones are gone..
probably for the best. Last time I was there I was drinking nasty fishbowl drinks at that dump, fieldhouse!!!
