Geo Mason #2 Thread
Dayton wins the first 25-13 after starting slow by giving Geo Mason 3 points on service errors. But we got rolling which was good to see.
New twist -- Jill Loiars is playing both left and right side OH. Haven't seen that this year. It's in combination with Shayne Brown who is also taking swings on both sides. With a little time/practice, Jill will do well on the right.

Up 5-1 in second. TO GM. Alaina Turner and Megan Campbell put up a perfect block for the 4th point and the camera angle was perfect. It was a thing of beauty. Both Megan and Alaina were both way over the net on the block and the ball went straight down. Sweet!

UD up 2-0 with a 25-16 set win. Ally Morey had a couple real nice digs and passes this set. Turner is playing great. Need to come out strong and put this away in 3.
We have 7.5 blocks in 2 sets. We currently sit 4th in the country in this stat. Here is the NCAA link:

Sweep. We took care of business. I would have liked to see a couple less errors from somewhere on the court, but the team took care of business and are now moving on to Geo Washington on Sunday.
The announcers said we are in the A-10 Tourney -- so it's playing for seeding and more importantly for momentum. GO FLYERS!!! Time to roll!

I just looked at the A-10 standings -- and UD will be the 5th seed in the tournament and play 4th seed SLU. So we are playing for momentum. Geo Washington will be the 3rd seed and play 6th seed Rhode Island. I only did a quick glance at the standings, but it doesn't look like any of that changes even if any of these teams lose twice this weekend.
We just gotta peak and play at a high level for three days. We've all seen this team play lights-out at times this year. Time to put it all together and make a run starting by beating Geo Washington on Sunday.

The Flyers had a very well balanced offense and outhit george mason .292 to .040. That is the domination we hoped for and needed before a big match Sunday.

I agree and will add our block was very good again 10.5 in 3 sets for 3.5/set. And our back row defense was solid and balanced with Ally and Alaina with 9 digs, Janna with 10 and Applegate with 11.
Bring on George Washington!
