Chris Johnson growing up fast--DDN
Nice article on CJ. One more reinforcement of the character of our recruits:

He didn't even visit another school. Have to like that.

I just have this feeling with him that he will be something special. He has that something extra that makes you feel comfortable with him out on the floor, even though he is a frosh.

Amen to that. You are saying what many of us are feeling as we listen or watch the games.
It makes me feel good about this year and even better about the next.

Can't take a pill and acquire his intangibles
He has the physical tools to be really special. His reach, hops, anticipation, court sense are all off the charts. Those are all things that can't be taught. We have a player who could start immediately if (God forbid) we should have an injury. Chris should see more minutes in the near future. Next to Roberts, he may become the only real "volume" shooter and scorer we have had in the stable at UD in quite some time.

As I've said before, when I saw him at the Red & Blue game I walked out of the Arena with a smile on my lips.

Solid
It seems like most/all of our players have needed to completley overhaul or significanly improve a "part" of their game to become great. Shooting, ball handling, defense, post moves, whatever.
With CJ it seems like he is built for his role and he can just focus on getting stronger, bringing intensity, gettign smarter, and doing the little things.

this is related to Chris playing alot this year. i sure as hell HOPE that Charles can give us what he gave the other night.
him having a better sr. year than most of us thought, and perhaps shooting 55% from the field, can perhaps lessen the pain of our outside shooting.
and again, it also forces some defenses to pack it in more aroudn the foul line and down low.

telegraphs shots
Chris Johnson telegraphs his 3pt shots.
Next time he takes a 3pt attempt, blink your eyes. If he's still there, the ball is going in the basket. If he gone, look toward the hoop as he's going for his rebound. The kid follows his shot better than anyone I've seen in a long time (except London Warren who follows all of his shots, but is really just playing the percentages).

Chris Johnson is the 'poster child' for why the recruiting experts and rankings need to be taken with a grain of salt. On paper, he was maybe our third best recruit.
In BG we trust.

I was convinced that Chris would be a tremendous player when I saw his highlight videos, reminds me a little of Teyshaun Prince. He can play the '2' or '3' which gives flexibility with recruiting other players.
