How in the heck did Kostas only get credited with 3 blocks? Man it seemed like he had at least 6.

Was Perryman the last flyer with 19 boards? Did he ever grab 19?

Didn't realize D-Squared lit it up for 25. Mr. C's 19 boards had me mesmerized. Voted Mr. C, but D-Squared has been a favorite for the past 3 years. May need to give him a nudge in a close one later in the year. Nutshell: needed 'em both, but last night is proof of what happens when we don't have Mr. C.

Sorry Rollo, couldn't let it be a shutout. Baby D was just as important as Josh this game. And heck, I was tempted to give it to Jordan Davis also. 18/19 is impressive, but watching the game, the other two aforementioned seemed to play as big of part.

Yup, 26/20 for Chris Johnson on Jan 09, 2010.
Since the 00-01 season, Josh and Chris are the only 2 players with at least 18 pts and 19 rebounds.

If someone gets a double-double that is solid for sure. But if you are close to 20-20, you are golden.

BabyD earned and Deserved it; but Josh wrestled it away from him. Great game by both of them.

Really wanted to give it to J. Davis, for his home state performance. He played a nice game, but it's no 18/19.

If there was a stat line for altered shots/players that thing twice about advancing in the lane/dumped passed due to challenge.....Kostas numbers would be off the charts.
It isn't just the blocks...it's how the inside game changes with the threat. Big Steve was the same way.

And this goes back to the previous game where My Flyers were fouling 3-point shots...STUPID! You don't have to block the 3-pt shot, you only have to alter it! DUH!

I know Perryman has the single game record at 23 and my recollection, clouded by malted hop intake from 94-98, is that he had more than 19 a few times.

DD may be like Scoochie last year. Steady performance every game. Doesn't get him POG honnors but will end up as MVP.

Florida A&M. I was there. The Rattlers had a Center that went on to the NBA. Jerome James maybe.

We don't arrive as a program until we are starting to quote the present or last 10 years or so. This is 2017, 57 years ago doesn't mean squat to outsiders. The boys back then were studs no doubt. _avier fans and my idiot friends alike enjoy crushing us for our 1950's and 1960's claims and banners. I mean lets face it the facts are in the 1960's the players were nowhere near as athletic, nowhere near as strong, nowhere near as conditioned as today's athletes.
UC talks about Kenyon Martin and Sean Kilpatrick. _avier talks about David West and Treyvon Blueitt. Guys we've all hear about. We talk about guys from the 1950's and 1960's no one outside of UD Arena remembers. I would've figured the 2014 E8 run would have reset our reference point.
I understand and respect the love of those guys by the Red Sweaters and i love it too. But we gotta get current with our glory days. 2014's magic provided that opportunity and with any luck we hang a Final 4 banner soon
*No disrespect UDTradition this is more general then at your post.

Single game record with an asterisk. Since 1972. I didn't realize they separated out the record from 1972 on based on less FTs being shot and less chance for rebounds.
Interesting. That asterisk is fair to put in there. Because the single game record is 32 by Garry Roggenburk. I'd guess on average a player has about 4 more chances(at most) for a rebound back then than now. Since you have to get to 7 fouls(both halves of course) to shoot FTs on non in-the-act of shooting FTs. I'm sure many of those first 7 fouls today are in the act and many back then were offensive fouls. But close to 70 percent of those back then were made so no chance for rebound. And due to a shot clock, today's teams get more possessions which add to their rebound opportunities.
But what might've been the biggest advantage back then is that shooting percentages were probably lower due to the fact that the inside game was more stopped up due to teams not concentrating on stopping the 3 point shot in which there wasn't any.
It really is amazing though at the differential in what's considered a great rebounding average today compared to 1972 and before.
Not trying to take away from Perryman, because he's the only player since 1972 on the all-time list of rebounders, that says a lot.

Brob2 Perryman3 I'm sure that there's no bias there on your part and you'll also accept there's no bias on my part when I educate you to the fact that #10 Donald " Smitty" Smith was better

It's an argument as old as time. Sports bars and stadiums literally have billions of these conversations.
Doesn't change the fact Ryan Perryman is the greatest athlete to ever live.
