Dodged a bullet there
My daughter was going to marry him (she was only 3 at the time she decided that), but when he transferred from UD she gave up on him. For now she has made the decision not to get married to anyone.

Any reason why you would want to post something negative about a former player?

Nearly everything I post here is positive and this is relevant to UD basketball.
Any reason why you have a God complex that makes you think you're the gate keeper of this board?
If Chris doesn't want posts like this, then he can tell me and I'll never post again

No he wasn't. He had soft hands, pretty good hops. He gave us a 10 minute glimps of what he

He was LAZY and had no drive to get better.

No it's not. If you read you will see that I said nearly - I'm not one of those posters who never has anything positive to say, in fact I'm pretty much the opposite and am overwhelmingly positive. On the other if I see something negative I don't put my head in the sand and pretend it isn't there. You may not care about former players but there may be some here that do (whether that's positive or negative).

I do care about all UD players current and former however I see no reason to bring up something negative.
Are you proud of yourself bringing this up?
If not why not?

It was at 6:15 AM ... it almost makes me feel like he passed out at someone's place and then woke up early on a couch and wanted to go home ... I could be totally wrong, but not many people drink all the way until 6 AM.
Either way it is a bad break for a kid who just had 18 months of no incidents and was ready to be a starting center. Sucks.
As far as John R. goes ... I haven't seen a productive post from him in a very long time. He seems to just find posts that doesn't meet his standards and then be a smart ass about them and degrade people. Being a newbie to the board I have no clue who he is or why he thinks he is entitled to do this to people but it is very annoying.
Shut up man ... post relevant or get out.

Johnny, this is a UD basketball and general A-10 basketball news outlet (as seen by the bot posting from the DDN and the A-10 website) and the post was relevant. If Hawko or his family members were a former UD basketball player, then it would be just as relevant. If he is not, I fail to see your point. If it turns out to be a false charge, we can post the retraction as well. The original poster was merely pointing out an update on Des's life. I would be just as interested if this happened to Alvarez, Meachum, or any other former Flyer athlete.

what gives?
If you don't like something that you read on this board, then move on. I'm not sure what the debate is here (other than who can add to their post count maybe)? I could use an additional post or two. That would be cool with me.
Anyway, back to my point - so, one (or more) person(s) doesn't like what was posted (for whatever reason). On the other hand, one (or more) person(s) does like like what was posted (for whatever reason). People not agreeing on this board? Shock and amazement! How could it be so?
I think that I heard a suggestion in the discussion to not post this type of material, but ultimately does either of you have control over what other people post on this board (including the other person)? I don't think so (but I could be wrong). Or, maybe there are rules of what should or shouldn't be posted. I plead ignorance if they exist, and I'm not sure either of you are the ones who are supposed to enforce the rules. In other words, you two disagree. Either read and discuss more about Adedji, or just move on.
+1 post for me.

There is nothing wrong with posting a link to a news article. When you post slanderous inuendo like Binnie Bombs did last year (I can't remember the details) it more than crosses the line.

Foreshadowing was his my space page while still with the flyers showing him with adult beverage in hand having a blast. Typical college kid moment, poor judgement from a guy getting a free ride and in the spotlight to a degree in our town
I can recall nights going at it until 6 am, so he may have been on a roll

Could you all please stop using the quote feature with JohnR's posts? The vast majority of us use the block feature and this makes the garbage visible.
It's a little bit like renting "The 300" only to get home and realize someone has switched the DVD in the box with a Wiggles video.

This would make the DDN proud:
"Adedji, 21, was scheduled to appear in court on Sunday, the spokesman said. Details of his arrest and arraignment were not immediately available, the spokesman said.
The spokesman said Adedji's home is in Maryland, but it was unclear if he has a campus address. Adedji's age was also not immediately available."

One way this story has some relevance is that there are posters here who insinuate that BG unfairly pushes players out of the program. This is evidence, along with a lot of other things he did while a player, that DA may have not met BG's character standards, and that BG was justified in benching him/showing him the door.

flyer2003: That was my first thought. There have been times when people think Coach Gregory just dislikes a young man and kicks him off the team (Norman Plummer and Big Des). There are always things that we aren't privy to, and need to just trust the better judgment of Coach Gregory, Athletic Dept. and the University.

You win with character, not characters. We know, or we are fairly certain, that Big Des and NP were given plenty of opportunities to mend their ways. They didn't and they are gone. That being said, I feel no animosity toward these players and hope they wake up and succeed in life.

It's pretty unlikely, though not impossible, that the series of events we've witnessed in the lives of these young men represent every time they've done something stupid.
More likely there's a ratio. . . maybe 6:1 of actions:getting caught

Plummer is playing professionally now-a-days and seemed to have turned his act around, it comes with maturity. Des obviously hasn't reached that point yet. On the other hand we all have done something stupid we regret, many times we are not caught. My hope is he figures it out, turns it around and helps Stony Brook.
I agree they had no place on our team and hurt the morale, but man Plummer could of come in handy last year when Wright went down.

BB33, while on your vacation feel free to read this article.

Pay special attention to #8 as it's a grammatical mistake you never seem to ' of' ever understood. With one less correction to make to your memos and releases, 'Beanie' will appreciate it.
Smooch, smooch.

Can someone teach me how to use the ignore feature? Seriously. I can't find how to do it on the site. Any instruction on this would be extremely valuable. I used it once a long time ago, but haven't since and have now forgotten. Please, someone, show mercy on me and teach me how to use this. I thank you in advance.

According to the attached calculator, at 305 lbs Big Des would have to consume 20 beers (240 oz) over a 10 hour period to get above 0.08%.

Sounds like he's cutting back from his UD days.

Furio - I, too, noticed his weight is still reported at 305. Frankly, that is the thing that really caught my eye in the original post. The DUI thing is getting so common with college athletes, it's just something you aren't surprised at anymore. The Washington Post lists so many of these every day under "miscellaneous" that they might think about a section called "Court Scene". It appears Des still is not making a lot of effort getting into playing shape.

Deal with the consequences of a bad decision.
If I remember correctly, I don't think anyone had a problem discussing NP when he made some bad decisions.

Difference being....
He screwed up, it made it to the news, and people in Dayton found out about it. Who cares. If people judge our program by an error by a FORMER player, then they don't have a clue.
Kind of like articles that say "Former Buckeye arrested for (insert offense)". They fail to mention that they played for them in '74. Be glad he isn't here, then we would have something to complain about.
