Golden DNutz - Vandy
Who were those men in Red playing in the 2nd half? Surely they weren't the same players who stumbled thru the first half?
Insanity!
One of them earned the Golden DNutz! Vote away...

no poll....i think some recognition needs to go to DDavis...he was like a man possesed for a stretch at the end of the first half that was huge. He needs to play with that kind of confidence all the time. Steve and Kendall were tremendous!

No love for Sam Miller?
He played 20 minutes and yes, had 4 fouls and only 2 points, but, no way do we win if Sam is the Sam of the first 7 games of the season. He played team defense that was what I would call "slightly above average", man defense that I would call average, and was 2nd on the team in rebounds!
So not the team MVP today, but, played the farthest above his prior performances.

Although coaches don't "play" the game how about adding the coaches halftime/second half adjustments to the poll?

Pollard was our only offense early, and then his late, shot-clock beating 3 put us up 7 down the stretch. He is the clear choice.

Steve was huge (no pun intended), but KP was huge-er. KP gets in foul trouble in the first half--Vandy goes on a big run. As I said elsewhere, KP is the motor that makes this team run.

Agree completely, AC91. A lot of heroes last night. But I voted for Baby D because, without his "Grand Theft Basketball" act at the end of the First Half, there might not have been a come-from-behind win in the Second Half. He was the match that lit that powder keg.

Pollard was the best player no doubt but Big Steve competing down low and winning even occasionally was a different element than we've had in a very long time. Pollard is the man, we've known that, but you hope/expect your man to do that in a big spot. While I'm thrilled he did - I'm voting Steve here.

I always liked Pollard. It isn't about Pollard being especially able that moves me.. it is the desire, the drive, the enthusiastic effort.
There are others that have this too, but his presence on the court often seems to manifest these attributes with more noticeable impact. He consistently brings it, and surely is effecting others around him positively.

Love KD. But what you're really saying is "Kyle Davis because he wasn't Scoochie and Cooke".
Funny thing, I don't know who will have the highest FT percentage when the season's over, but KD is the one I want to see there when there are clutch FTs to be made. He's got ice in his veins in in those situations.

You know, this is what I love about this team (and loved about last year's team). No one guy deserves all the credit game-in and game-out, and without the contributions of a number of guys, we don't win. Pollard's 21 were huge. But so was Baby D's rally at the end of the 1st Half. Steve got some killer B's (buckets, boards, and blocks) at various stages of the game. Kyle goes to the line, with the result still in doubt after 2 teammates clanked 3 freebies and calmly drains a pair with < a minute to go. Sam comes in after a truly regrettable performance against y and gets 6 big boards while going against a couple of 7-footers. The X Factor didn't lose confidence in his shot and calmly drained a 3 from the wing, as if he was still playing in front of 800 in Wayne's gym instead of 8,000 in an SEC arena. In a 5-point game, if any 2 of the above didn't happen, we're all "coulda, woulda, shoulda". Instead, we're celebrating a road win against a Top 25 opponent from a Power 5 conference. It's a great day to be the Flyer Faithful!

Tough call between Steve and Pollard. Chose KP but Steve's body of work was comparable. Scoochie was tough too. I'm glad he has the pulse of the team and is the facilitator-extraordinaire that he is while also being the top scoring threat that he is. He's a winner with a dagger.
Yeah, I thought this was the other poll.

It seemed Cooke had a good opportunity to be the wrecker again but KP hogged it. Sent it down. Time to don the cape.

Pollard was the player of the game but without DD going off at the end of the 1st half it probably would have been too little too late.
And without Steve this game probably would have ended up like the Alabama game last year with their center dominating the game
Kyle was clutch in last seconds but need to work on those free throws

KD is shooting 76% from the line, who needs the work is Pollard.

Where KD needs the work is in launching the 3, or using the pump fake with a dribble drive to get a decent look from 15. He was the Free Throw Hero last night.
