If only we had a stud in the middle
If only we had a stud in the middle that was a dominant domineering 6"9 220 to physically dominate the Baylor front line. Humm???????? Who could that be???????

I am not the one that anointed the "Stud", so you are asking the wrong poster. See other player hating post, that clearly names said stud.

The future of this program is a function of Scott and Robinson's development and because of that we need them in the game during crunch time...especially in the non-conference part of the schedule.
E.D. 35 had 1 nice offensive move in the 2nd minute of the game...after that he was lost on both offense and defense. You can't assume he'd have grabbed a rebound or boxed out an opponent in the last minute any more than you could say that Gavs or Robinson would have done the same had they been in the game.

Okay Rollo, but I can, and do, very accurately state that Scott didn't not, and typically will not get those rebounds, as evidence by the result, and nor will he be getting those rebounds, because he is too "shrimpo" to be playing the 5 position against the likes of Baylor, et.al.
You know why I started this thread, and the facts speak for themselves...aka...Devon Scott is kind of an okay role player, but he is not better or more physically suited to play center than about five other players on this UD team. Kav, Jalen, and AG are all better than Devon Scott.

Steve McElvene
IMO Archie has taken the next progressive step toward upgrading that lane presence-- 6'11"/ 285 lbs and still growing. Couple him with Jalen, Devon, Pierre, Smith, Price, Pollard,et.al. and several other upgrades in the next class and one can see the potential upgraded building blocks at every position.
I would love to see Miller's progression chart. I'll bet it's got some HS Freshman names down the road at all positions that are potential upgrades to today's roster.
Arch has earned a lot of trust just seeing the contribution of all his young recruits. What were the odds of Pollard showing up like he has this week? The man has a plan and he knows what he's got (including their flaws). All the posters asking about Gavs, Kyle Davis, and others, need to chill. Their time will come. But if it doesn't, Arch will know the reason why (maybe even before this MB--imagine that).

McElvene's size/weight/strength will limit his effectiveness as a UD freshman and may keep him behind Scott and Robinson as a sophomore. And he knows it...so does his coach...as can be seen here:
"McElvene has worked to get his weight down from 315 pounds to 280, and worked on his game hard enough to earn a scholarship to the University of Dayton. And he's still getting better."

When I saw the title of this thread I thought it was an invitation to Rollo!
I agree, McElvene is not that stud right now and will take some time, and then maybe.
