Flyers #7-8 in RPI
It is early, but 7-8 RPI with 12th best SOS is great. Way to go Archie and team!

I'm interested to see where they show up in the human polls Monday. I'm going to guess around 30

Interesting that the none of the Charter NBE teams are lower than Villanova's #58. Next to 'nova are Providence and St John's at 73 and 72.

It could be a long season for the NBE if these kinds of numbers don't improve drastically before conference season.
I remember when we first joined the A10, the BE (before going BCS) and A10 were neck and neck, and it was never clear year to year which of the two conferences would come out on top. We seem to be heading in that direction again. I hope.

We'll have our RPI updated later tonight. FYI, I would not follow the other RPIs too closely. I dont boast too often, but the other RPIs have a ton of errors in them. The NCAA only matches to us, Pomeroy, and Palm for error-checking their own mistakes.
A lil' point of pride for the UDPride nerd herd.

Absolutely. Everyone should check here for their RPI stats. The only downside for a non-UD fan is that the teams highlighted in red/blue aren't relevant for other fans. Great stats, quickly updated, great format.

One RPI/SOS that shocks me is Georgia Tech. With their 5-1 record they have an RPI of #257, and an SOS of #346 out of 351 possible. I would have thought that even a loss to UD would have boosted them a bit better than those numbers. Hate to think what a loss to them would have done to us.

There are anomalies like that all over the RPI this early in the season. Crazy stuff that a team 5-1 that can be 100 spots below a team 0-4. It must be the law of large numbers at play but it always seems to be about right near the end of the season.

I don't mean to be a complete homer but if we aren't ranked in the top 25 next week, there's something wrong

They have a home loss and a road win, and four more home wins, so their RPI record is 3.8 wins and 1.4 losses, or .731.
They have played four absolute cupcakes at home...four teams that have combined for a stunning ZERO D1 wins to this point. They beat 1-4 UGA on the road. Dayton is the only average or better opponent they have played so far.

GT's forecasted RPI for the year is about 150 whereas UD's is about 30.
http://www.rpiforecast.com/teams/Dayton.html
Btw, agree UD Pride's RPI is the most accurate.

I would take a "hope for the best but expect the worst" kind of attitude if I were you. We will probably get votes, but not likely to be in the Top 25. It always seems to take longer to get in than most of us think it should. Having our games on ESPN might help because it gives the voter a chance to see if we pass the eye test.
