He would have been eaten alive by the Baylor bigs. Gonzaga he could have played, but there are just too many in line. Robinson rarely plays.

Archie just said on his show that Alex has been having back problems. They worked on him after the 12 hour trip but it just wouldn't come together from him. Said he had trouble moving. They are going to keep at it (working with his back)and see where it goes.

If you've ever flown to Hawaii, especially if you are 6'9", I'd bet that you can aggravate a back problem pretty easily. Alex will play when he can contribute without risking further injury.
Fortunately we have depth at the 4-5 and can allow him time to heal. Long up into February, when legs are getting tired and maybe a post player or two is dinged up, I bet he'll see floor time. It's just a great luxury to have the depth that we do.
Love it!

Someone posted elsewhere they saw him in street clothes on the bench, not in uniform. And one or two (maybe all three) of the official box scores did not list him in the scorebook - rather than a 0 minute DNP-coach decision. Back problems that would not loosen up would explain street clothes and not in scorebook.
But really, he's the fourth big on a team that plays small. He isn't going to get many minutes, even if he moves up to the third big in the rotation.
