Archie's pressers are slowly becoming legendary. He might end up as good as Coles some day.

Q: Your team only had four tunrovers today, so talk about your team's ability to hold onto the ball.
AM: It's a miracle. It's a miracle. I mean, we talk about it all the time. But sometimes we just throw the ball like we have mind to mind reading. They just throw the ball at one another and they're not even looking for it at times.

My favorite quotes from the Maui post game interviews:

Cal player, "They were busting our butts from the get go..."

Cal coach, "Hat's off to Dayton. That's a good basketball team...tough midwestern kids, had a chip on their shoulder, came out, knocked us back..."

Wonderful three days for a Flyer fan. Even with the Baylor gut punch, they showed on national tv how good they are.

Depth won that third game in three days. Hopefully, depth will help again in the A10 tourney when they might have 3 games in 3 days again. Twelve Angry Men.

Davis got a chance to show what he can do, and he can do a lot! Pollard and Smith are solid. The future looks bright.

And not to go to the negative, but wonder why Gav did not get any minutes at all in the Cal game. Couldn't Archie have given him at least a token minute at mop up time just to get his name to appear in the box score? I was hoping he would eventually develop into a mountain in the middle for us. (Le Montagne au Milieu!)

Now on to the Delaware State game. No let down. No trap game. Keep that chip on the shoulder and pound out a strong win.

It's a great day to be a Flyer!

During the Baylor game, ESPN showed a close-up of the bench and it looked to me like Gav was in street clothes. Not sure what's up wit dat...

If true, some kind of injury. Not sure you take him if suspended in any form I also don't think he shows as 0 minutes in official box, almost like they did not list him.

Pretty sure he has noexhibition minutes, so can't redshirt.

Yeah, it was basically a quick head shot, and it could have just been a warm-up jacket or something, but he definitely had something on either over or instead of his jersey...

Thumbs up Cal website feedback

I don't know how to do links, so I'll give you a quote from The Bear Insider, one of Cal's fan sites. If you find the website, it's post #3.
"(Dayton) They are the type of team that Mongomery is never able to recruit enough smart, truly athletic players to beat. The only satisfaction I got out of today's game was watching the Dayton players share the ball, play great defense and kill the offensive glass.
We could play Dayton (who I believe will be a solid tournament team) 100 times and and I doubt that we could ever get closer than 15 pts. We simply do not match up to their wonderful style of of play and quickness. As a lifelong Cal fan, it's games like Dayton's that frustrate me because we could never recruit enough good, athletic players to compete against such a team. "
Some posters agreed and some did not, but I think it's a tribute to our guys.
On the other side of the coin, he doesn't know that Dayton teams, over the years, have been known to play to the level of competition and may not be able to keep up the way they played at Maui. I hope those days are over, so I can watch games at home and on TV and actually breathe the whole time.
