We won, right?
We get 4 threads for every loss about the crappy coaching, but doesn't seem like anyone can enjoy a win around here.
Nice all around win against a solid Davidson team. We have a lot of games left against the bottom half of the conference...I think we have a shot to build some momentum here.
Let's finish strong and see what happens in DC!

I wrote my usual synopsis, but I had to have a beer first to celebrate the occasional victory.

I'll state my usual synopsis -- no bid year, better years are coming. No anxiety this year watching games because my expectations are low vs. the last four years with Scoothie, Pollard, Kyle Davis etc. That said, It is always A GREAT DAY TO BE A FLYER!

I’m enjoying it! It wasn’t a perfect win, but it was a solid win against a solid team. And now, on to SLU!
LET’S GO, FLYERS!

Well, for starters, the one called " URI Loss". udscott took to the Svoboda thread after URI to complain about, well, Svoboda.
That's off the top of my head. Maybe there is three, maybe there is 4. I think the point being made here is that after losses the sky is falling. After wins, we don't see an equal, but opposite, reaction.

Actually we opened PK but ended up -1.5 and didn't cover, but all that doesn't mean much. We got a much needed win.

Sure I'm happy about a win. We need everyone we can get. Still, is it wrong to point out things that need improvement? It's not like we can expect a squeaker to springboard us to the sweet sixteen. Our victories against the Bonnies and VCU prove that. We needed a miracle shot from trey and a host of things to go our way to win last night. Lots of things need to be fixed in order for us to get better. For instance, stop sticking Trey with last second shots. He's perhaps the least able to create with the shot clock about to expire!

Yeah, win the next game! I'll be in St. Louis with Leslie's fan bus to cheer them on. I REALLY wanted a win tonight for the usual reasons, but also to have a bit of momentum going to SLU. My first fan bus trip was to SLU in 2010. We led by 12 at the half, but lost by 2 in double OT. Here's hoping we can do the job this year. GO FLYERS!

Yes, we did win. Mostly by making fewer mistakes than Davidson made.
I can only hope we get help from future opponents like Davidson gave us at the end.
So, their player gets the ball in bounds with 22 seconds left, and he is down 4 points after Trey coolly drops two free throws. He dribbles and dribbles aimlessly until there are 5 seconds left. What was he thinking? Looked like a serious case of brain freeze.

I was at that game sitting right behind the bench. We missed FT that would have iced it in regulation and the first OT. That was also the game that an assistant walked away from a huddle and could be heard saying "He doesn't F****** Listen" when talking about BG.

Isn't it great! And, thank God for the Atlantic Ten Conference; or we wouldn't even be having this thread. You know, celebrating a victory against a second place team, and realistic thoughts about finishing strong in the conference...based on remaining conference foes.

Thank God for the Atlantic Ten Conference!

Thank God for the SWAC, where we have a chance to win the conference given the lesser talents!
Thank God for *better conference* where our schedule still gives us enough shots at good wins to get an at-large bid!
Come on now.

Headed out on the road for the next two against two teams that UD is in a dead heat with. Great chance to gain some separation. Hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

If your measure of a good season is making the Sweet 16 every year, you have been disappointed every year but one in the past few decades.

I think Dayton should be dancing 3 years out of 4, and 1 of those should be a Sweet 16. So I'm torn on this season. We made the tournament 3 years in a row, so this can be the down year. On the other hand, we didn't make a Sweet 16 the past 3 years so they need to make the Sweet 16 this year.
So I'll just give pass to Grant since it's his first year and start a new cycle of 4 years next season.

IIRC, that wasn’t the only time an assistant walked away from a BG huddle during a game saying “He doesn’t f***ing listen!” I thought I read where that happened at least once here at The Arena, too, with Billy Schmidt being the assistant who said it.
