Did Pollard Double-Dribble on His Breakout???
Folks, I do not have the LaSalle game replay, but I remember very clearly Pollard with a break-away in which he was dribbling down the far side of the court. An in-game replay clearly showed that he caught the ball with two hands while dribbling and then proceeded to re-start his dribble. Wasn't this a double-dribble? I would appreciate comments from our more astute Priders.

I agree, it looked like a double dribble in real time and on replay. Heck of a play by Pollard, but we may have got some home cooking on that one.

My son and i had the same discussion. It was off a deflected ball/steal and i thought he never had posession and was not dribbling when he briefly picked it up. It didnt look great but i thought that was correct

Looked like s gray area. He was attempting to dribble but never had full possession u til he actually touched it with both hands.

I did not hear a whistle, so the answer is NO, he did not double dribble

I watched the replay several times. He controlled the dribble, then lost control of the dribble, grabbed with both hands, and then continued dribbling. A clear violation. But he had the advantage of blocking the ref's view.

I thought it was clearly a double dribble. The refs must have felt that he never really controlled the ball so when he put two hands on it that was the first time he "possessed it." I thought it was a bad call but it went my team's way so who cares?

There is no double dribble in basketball anymore, and no palming of the ball, hell before much longer you will just see guys running up and down like rugby players

I've seen palming frequently called. Granted, more palming occurs but it seems to be frequently inconsequential (e.g., dribbling up the floor). I think Crosby does this. I also believe this can cause this to become a habit, which may exhibit itself while being covered and result in a turnover. I'd rather have the coaches fix this than to have it called in every circumstance.
