Is the Chicago trip already a success?
Even if we lose tomorrow night vs Marquette, is this trip still a success for this team in your opinions? It definitely is to me. Auburn was a good way to expose our own flaws to ourselves. We will come back home and have a nice schedule to tune up for A-10 play.

All jokes aside, I realistically predicted us to go 1-1 this weekend, but a blowout loss to Marquette would leave a bad taste in my mouth. We've been competitive in these types of games over the last few years so anything less than that would be disappointing.

Hey Af. I know you're out of state so you can't get the local TV broadcast here in Dayton, but you might try to see if Marquette's website will be streaming. It's kind of a local game for them.

Good defensive teams don't usually get blown out.
Have some faith, we can win tomorrow.

Oh, I at least think we will keep it close if not win. I was just saying that if we were to get blown out tomorrow, I would not consider the trip a success.

H*** to the naw!
Valuable trip? Perhaps. Good Trip? If they play well tomorrow, they I could say yes without the win. If they play poorly, then I couldn't. But, you cannot call the trip "successful" without winning both games because is the goal is to win. The goal is not to come out of the trip at 0.500.

Count me also on that one. Thank God we play again tomorrow with a chance to prove that those were imposters in UD uniforms. I'd like to hear from some eyewitness observer, were those really open 3's or was the defense tight?
Must play like Flyers tomorrow--win or lose.

Challenge This Team
Don't be afraid to challenge this team. They are very good. Last year UD beat Louisville and Pittsburgh. Marquette is good, but not as good as those two programs. There is no reason for the Flyer Faithful to expect less than a win over Marquette. It is important to this team and important to the A-10.

Amen! We need this game tomorrow. The players would be fired up to be 6-0 and coming home for the next game in front of the Fyer Faithful.

Success would be a win vs a mediocre Auburn team and finishing within 8 pts of Marquette.
So, I wouldn't call it a success yet. We got away with one tonight 0-24 from 3pt range and still pulling off a win. If we play Marquette close, we'll start to get some attention.

They were highly contested treys, however the blown layups or dunks were anything but. Auburn played a sagging defense that was just about as tenacious as the flyers. They used a 4 guard offense at times that caused matchup problems. Stephen Thomas kept us in the game the first half as even CW was struggling with the "O". CW had like 4 to's for walking with the ball. Not obvious walking, but a little hesitation step as he tried to figure out his defender.
CJ was the man in OT. Six straight free throws, very cool and calm.
Offensively we just did not get it going against their stiffling defense. They sagged in the post and since we couldn't hit a trey we couldn't get the post open.
Expect a whole different game tomorrow. Took 12 players to win tonight and will take 12 again tomorrow. "Yes we can". Go Flyers!

I thought a lot of our threes were open, we just didn't knock them down. On the flip side, they made several contested shots, including one right at the end of the shot clock where LW had a great challenge on the shot. Some nights, it's just contagious... most of our threes were makeable; we just missed em.
Marquette looked very very good last night. They have about 4 guys that can put up 30 on any given night. But I think our defense is much tougher than UNI's... it should be a much better atmosphere. I'm not optimistic, but I think we can hang with that team.

It just means that the trip wasn't a failure. A failure would losing both games, a success would be winning both games. Splitting the games would just mean we fell somewhere in between.
