Turnover count is 22. Dayton trails 76-61. Shooting the 3 well, but that’s about it. Of course, some of the best Dayton teams in recent years might have lost by double digits to this Auburn team.
EXACTLY! But Fire AG... BS

They've scored 27 points in the second half because they are mainly just jacking up bad 3's.

The only thing I can figure is that they ruled it incidental contact, since Josh got the dunk and the defender had his hands up, defending the shot.

I like the effort and improved offense in the second half especially by our underclassmen. We can't be too mad about a 10 pt loss on the road to #8. After being down by 19 and clawing back.

Love the way the guys kept fighting. Just came out of the gate too intimidated, and got into too deep a hole. Proud that they didn’t give up, and that they hung together as a team.

Saw the game on the SEC channel-
1. Coach Grant managed to the new system to avoid a double digit loss- probably the right move.
2. We are a tough team picking up some excellent experience. How can you not love these guys?
3. We are a top 2 team finisher in the A-10.

Brown is their only senior. Auburn will be scary good next year.
Kudos to Grant, who had the guts to clean out the puss on last year's team and play short handed and still compete with three top 25 teams.

Glad they hung around, no shame losing by 10 to a very good team at their place. We won't face a team that good again all year. Now we need to rack up some wins.

Good effort even though turnovers were the main problem! We came out at the beginning of the game like deer in the headlights! No one expected us to win. 82-72 was respectable. Lets go on a four game winning streak on our own and finish 9-4 in the non-con.

Most of our stats were pretty solid - rebounds, shooting percentage, 3 point shooting percentage. However, the obvious big elephant in the gym was 23 turnovers leading to 37 points. Ouch.
Tulsa will be a very difficult game.

Yep, the 2nd Rd Kansas game was 2008-09. I was at that game in Minneapolis...Cole Aldrich had a day against Chris Wright (20 rebounds and 10 blocks).
I'll never forget sending WV packing in Rd. 1

What I remember about that Kansas game was our guys gift-wrapping about half of those blocks that Aldrich got. Our guys kept driving straight into him, and with his size, all he had to do was reach straight up and grab the ball. Reminded me of the Sinatra song “High Hopes”, but without the happy endings.

Down by 19 at half and lose by 10. Nobody threw in the towel here. Way too many turnovers in the first half, but when we cut those down in the second half we could play with them. I think we “made” them play the entire 40 minutes. Otherwise we played well enough to win if they did not.
Keep working guys. Better results are coming. Young teams will have ups and downs, just stay together and keep working. The A10 is up for grabs.

I refuse to read Twain.
I can't wait for all of you to be celebrating an NIT title in 2 years with Anthony Grant as your head coach.

Loved the effort by clawing back into it, but moral victories still count as losses.

OK, so according to you, Anthony Grant was a horrible choice as coach. So, who should they have chosen? John Wooden? Sorry, but he’s dead. Mark Few? I doubt he’s leaving Gonzaga any time soon. Bob Knight? He isn’t coming out of retirement for our job. OK, then, who?
And once you give a couple realistic names of guys you’d have preferred over Grant (names like Calipari and Jay Wright aren’t realistic) we’ll compare results after the 2022 season. I believe Grant will have led us into the NCAA Tournament at least once, probably twice, and possibly even 3 times between now and then.

I will add to this, show me your posts 1 year and 9 games into the BG's tenure that he was not the right guy and 1 year and 9 games into the AM tenure that he was the right guy.

I thought we would be better prepared for the pressure . Jalen was manhandled, Matos would have helped on Bowen. My concern was late game. Ryan was playing well and sat most of the last 5. Also we really didn’t attack the last 2 min. Kinda sat back.

This where I wonder if the new NET metric changes how the end of game is played. If a loss is inevitable against a top team, if it is close, do you just let it stay that way or do you still go all out?

Kudos to Grant, who had the guts to clean out the puss on last year's team and play short handed and still compete with three top 25 teams.

With Brown they can be scary good this season.

I agree with this but will also and moral victories are important losses for a young team to help them learn they can play at a certain level. That if they clean up the turnovers they can book a real win. If the play better D, they can book a real win, etc.

If he's "our" head coach why are "you" on this board? Find a team...

I do not think our team was prepared for how quick and athletic the Auburn players are. No way you can prepare for it. You have to experience it, like they did in the first half before their brains and reflexes adjusted in the second half. May have been bad to play Detroit the prior game, as it gave our guys a slowed down defense in their minds. However, it may now help us beat Tulsa.
